Operation
Sensing the resistance between positive- negative terminals & earth, this equipment is used for sensing the DC earth leakage current for electrical equipment such as L.T. Panels and Switch boards. Leakage current always depends on the resistance value between respective terminals, therefore, higher the resistance, lower is the leakage current and vice versa. Our earth relay senses leakage current through Resistor Bridge & energizes relay when Resistance value goes out of the range selected on the dial thus assuring long life of the equipment.

Earth Monitoring Relays

Sensitivity to supply Voltage fluctuations like Spikes etc might damage the hardware or corrupt the data on software and is a common problem with almost all of the electrical equipment. Computers are frequently installed on dedicated clean circuits for a clean supply. Further, these also have inbuilt suppression and filtering circuitry which may leak the unwanted components of electric supply to earth.

Earthing is required to carry a significant amount of continuous leakage current in case when large numbers of computers are connected on same circuit. Isolation of any section will rise to potentially lethal voltage if there is any breakage in the earth connection which may also result in the failures of the computers due to voltage spikes. As recommended in IS 3043 (Section 39.2.4.2), providing a protective device for monitoring the continuity of the protective earth connection is mandatory. This is also required for providing the means of automatic disconnection in case of failure or at least give an audio alarm to user. Our Earth Monitoring Relay is widely in choice as it senses the rise in the voltage between the earth and neutral conductors and also detects the integrity of the earthing connection. These are advised to be installed at UPS supply pints and possess following features:

• Available in door mounting (96 x96mm) channel mounting models
• Smart design that can fit on any mounting channel • Choice of screw less terminals
• Total wireless interiors
• ± 2% Accuracy
• Test & Auto/Manual Reset facility
• Designed for high reliability, as relay energizes only under fault conditions

Operation

This relay has an easy mode of operation as it senses voltage between earth & neutral terminal on load side continuously. Voltage increases once the earth gets disconnected and the relay give output for tripping or audio alarm when voltage rises above the limit set on the dial.

Earth Fault Relays

Following international standards of quality, we manufacture a flawless range of earth fault relays that are available in aesthetically pleasing and compact designs. This equipment has easy mode of operation as it monitors the current flowing through the circuit with the help of secondary CT which lies in the path of the current. Single CDT is required for one phase where as for 3 phases one CT per phase is required. Once the current signal goes out of the range selected on the dial, relay status changes where as in case of 3 phase current relay, each phase of current is sensed separately to provide protection. These relays are provided with in the time delays and for the earth fault relays CT is connected in the earth fault current path. For e.g. Cable connected between Alternator Neutral and Ground, or Neutral of the circuit.

CBCT Relays (N96 Digital Relays)

Manufacturing a wide range of CBCT (N96 Digital Relays), we have been able to satisfy wide needs of our clients. Also termed as digital relay, these refer to protective relays that uses an advanced microprocessor for analyzing power system voltage and currents. These are primarily used to detect faults in an electric power system and are generally gray areas on which digital/numeric relay constitutes. These apply A/D (analog/digital) conversion processes to the incoming voltages and currents and analyze the A/D converter output to extract as a minimum magnitude of the incoming quantity. These protective relays use Fourier transformer concept (RMS and some form of averaging are used in basic products). Fourier transform is commonly used to extract the signal's phase angle relative to some reference, except in the most basic applications. Capable of applying advanced logic this equipment is highly in demand. It also analyzes:

• Whether the relay should trip or restrain from tripping based on current and/or voltage magnitude (and angle in some applications)
• Complex parameters set by the user
• Relay contact inputs

Timing and order of event sequences Some of the features of these digital relays are:

• Being user configurable at a level, this relay can be used for changing front panel switches or moving of jumpers on a circuit board
• Advanced event recording include some means for the user to see the timing of key logic decisions, relay I/O (input/output) changes, and to finding an oscillographic fashion at least the fundamental frequency component of the incoming AC waveform
• Relay possess an extensive collection of settings, beyond what can be entered via front panel knobs and dials. These settings are the transferred to the relay via an interface with a PC (personal computer), which is used to collect event reports from the relay.
• Advanced metering and communication protocol ports available in modern versions of digital relay which allows the relay to become a focal point in a SCADA system
