Major noise sources like the air fan should be powerful and quiet at the same time. The open jet stream in the test section can create an even higher noise level so a carefully design must combine a sufficient aerodynamic situation with an excellent acoustic performance. With its open concept and the variety of software components available, HARMONIE is the idealplatform for sound and vibration measurements in both mobile and stationary applications. HARMONIE features compact dimensions, high accuracy and minimal power consumption. The highly successful HARMONIE measuring instrument has been developed into a compatible family of devices satisfying a wide variety of user requirements in the following formats box with PCMCIA interface half-length PCI card and Soundbook complete compact device. Variants with two, four and eight sound and vibration measurement channels are available in each of these formats. In combination with the modular software packages offered, HARMONIE can be employed for the following applications with two to eight channels: Sound level measurement Frequency analysis Sound intensity Sound power Human vibration analysis Order analysis Pass-by measurement in accordance with ISO 362 Building acoustics Testing and quality inspection Vibration analysis Modal analysis Rotor balancing

Reverberation chambers are designed to determine the sound power of noise sources (ISO 3741) or the sound absorption coefficient (ISO 354). In order to determine the sound insulation of components a transmitting and a receiving chamber are required and the test specimens are installed in an opening between them.

With its compact design, the Boogie sound level meter has excellent new features. It is designed to be extremely easy to use so that no previous experience is necessary. Measurement errors are avoided by means of automatic calibration and range selection. The large and clearly arranged display of the measured values both in figures and as a bar graph facilitate the measurement process. Having only 3 buttons, the device is extremely simple to operate. The plastic foil keyboard can be cleaned easily and the stainless steel microphone housing withstands the usual wear and tear. Its very favorable price, easy handling and small dimensions make Boogie the ideal device for firms, citizens' initiatives and private individuals whose budget normally does not permit the purchase of noise measuring instrumentation. An innovation for this type of sound level meter is that Boogie also measures the A-weighted equivalent continuous sound pressure level LAeq (1 second value or start/stop) in addition to the A-weighted sound pressure level and its maximum value. With the help of an acoustic calibrator the device is calibrated fully automatically. This calibration also remains intact after switching off the device.

MSX16 is a flexible and expandable multi-channel data acquisition and signal processing unit for applications in research, development and testing. Up to 8 MSX16 units can be directly connected to a PC by means of an interface card. The combination of a PC and MSX16 is the cost-effective alternative to signal acquisition with a recorder. MSX16 features comfortable control of data acquisition via the PC, various online displays during the measurement and direct storage of measurement data on the hard disk or other storage media. Flexibility is one of the most important advantages of the MSX16 concept. With a notebook and the MSX16 battery option, measurements and analyses can be performed independent of mains power. ICP, microphone, charge amplifier and tacho input modules are available. User-specific input modules can also be supplied upon request. Microphone and ICP inputs are already prepared for the Smart Sensor Interface defined in IEEE P1451.4. The type and serial number of all input modules are automatically recognized: MSX16 is a "plug and play" system.
