Responsibility

The respective department heads does verification of records of products/ material/raw material from supplier/manufacturer & sub vendor to ensure quality at every involved stage.

Representation

For large/special projects, we also have with us provision of appointing a person as management representative who will be responsible for implementing quality system in addition to handling of the routine work.

Review

The Managing Director, General Manager, Dy. General Manager & Engineering Manager carry out the reviews for maintaining quality and proper records. They also render any help required for smooth functioning and co-ordination between department heads. This helps us to closely follow procedures and maintain records with an ultimate aim to meet customer’s expectations in terms of specification & delivery.

Design procedure is also discussed with client/consultants and then internal discussion is held regarding necessary formats etc. that need to be prepared/ adopted. At this stage, all concerned department heads are involved.

Design

Based on the review & inputs of the design department, drawings and BOQ, specification, inspection details are generated. On readiness of design & specification as mutually agreed upon with the client, purchases of bought out material are commenced that include evaluation of vendors/sub contractors as well as for subsequently carrying out inspection of bought out material.

Inspection

1.Guide line for handling, storage, packing is obtained from manufacturers/ other competent authorities
2.Wherever necessary, assistance of outside testing laboratories is also taken to assist us in this activity
3.Wherever agreed, quality/inspection records are made available for evaluation of purchaser/his representative
4.Projects related to training are also assessed with necessary training imparted at appropriate stages
5.Whenever required, we also undertake servicing / annual maintenance contracts

Safety Policy

Safety at Design Stage

The safe design for the facilities shall be achieved by using the results of:

Project Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) Report
Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Report
Explosion and Radiation Study Report

Further, we will also ensure that:

Storage and Import is as per the Hazardous Chemical Rules, 1989

We will also ensure that good safety engineering practice is demonstrated by the following Regulations and international codes and standards:

Safety shall be involved in the engineering and design activity aimed at minimizing risk and damage to personnel and equipment during construction, operation & maintenance of the system

Personal protection shall be provided in the facilities to safeguard personnel from any dangers during construction, operation & maintenance phases

The engineering design & construction of the plant shall ensure inherent safety by paying attention to the following:

Plant layout
Area classification
Instrumentation & control
Fire and gas detection
Over-pressure protection systems
Equipment isolations for maintenance
Piping specifications for maintenance
Equipment design
Vent and flares

Control Building requirements

Personnel Protection

In order to meet the requirements for personnel protection, relevant safety items as applicable shall be provided such as:

Safety helmets
Safety footwear
Protective gloves / clothing
Eye protection
Safety showers / eye bath
Eye wash units
Breathing equipment / apparatus
Escape sets
First aid kits
Fire blankets
Safety signs

Further, we will also ensure that:

A defined procedure shall be developed in consultation with Safety Office of the Project Site for registration of construction & operations personnel
Safety signs & notices shall be provided as required throughout the site
Warning symbols shall follow internationally recognized standards
Awareness shall be created to use emergency eye wash units & showers etc. and windsocks "on plot" shall be provided as an aid to determining direction of any gas cloud on release, thus assisting in escape route planning & fire fighting
Buried pipelines & cables shall have periodic markers along their lengths

Electrical Safety

The electrical design & installation shall also be in accordance with established codes, sound engineering practices & international standards
These shall conform to the local statutory regulations

The electrical design shall provide the following:

Safety to personnel and equipment
Reliability of service
Minimum fire risk
Sufficient emergency power to safely shutdown in the event of an incident
Personnel involved in handling, decanting or moving hazardous material shall be fully trained to do so
Detailed procedures, protective clothing, respiratory equipment etc. shall be provided for all those personnel
Cylinder storage shed shall comply with Gas Cylinder Rules

Safety Policies

Noise & Vibration

The need for noise & vibration control shall be taken into account during installation design. Noise levels shall be limited throughout the installations to:

Minimize the risk of hearing damage to personnel
Ensure alarm is audible
Permit adequate speech, telephone, and radio communication
Maintain working efficiency

Similarly, vibration levels shall be limited, in order to

Prevent a health hazard
Maintain proficiency of personnel performing designated tasks

Noise Control

Noise limits for individual items of machinery shall be specified, taking into account:

Results of a project noise study
Location of equipment & its acoustic environment

We will also ensure that:

Personnel hearing protection shall only be used where engineering methods of noise control are not cost effective/ reasonably practicable

Vibration Control

Priority shall be given to limiting the emission of vibrations from equipment by:

Balancing of rotating equipment & anti-vibration mounting

Implementation of H-S-E Policy

It is the responsibility of all the employees / Site In-Charge / Supervisors to follow:
Safe working methods, to avoid unsafe shortcuts
To use necessary personal protective equipment to care for the safety of other employees, juniors & subordinate
To report about unsafe working conditions
To maintain housekeeping & safe working conditions to the extent reasonably practicable
To initiate action for improving working conditions for safety & obtaining necessary safety equipment
To motivate subordinates to follow safe practices & improve safety awareness
To monitor safety measures & implementation of Safety Policy at the project level
To implement safety measures in office premises
To carry out internal Audit for H-S-E at project sites
To advise on safety aspects in all job studies & to carry out detailed job safety studies of selected jobs
To check & evaluate the effectiveness of action taken or proposed to be taken to prevent personal injuries
To advise on matters related to carrying out safety inspection at project sites
To advise on the maintenance of such records that is necessary relating to accidents, dangerous occurrences.
To organize in association with concerned departments campaigns, competitions, contests & other activities which will develop/ maintain the interest of the workers in establishing & maintaining safe conditions of work and procedures

Safety In Construction

A "Construction Safety Plan" shall also be produced which shall defined in detail how all safety functions & responsibilities are to be executed

During the design phase a detailed Construction Health, Safety & Environmental Philosophy shall be developed in consultation with the Safety Officer of the project to cover all sites

Construction performed in a potentially hazardous plant shall comply with Health Safety & Environmental requirements and safety procedures
