A conventional radiator arrangement for cooling of a motor in a vehicle comprises a radiator fan, which provides an axial airflow through a radiator mounted behind the radiator fan. However, an axial fan provides an airflow within an area having a substantially circular extension in a plane perpendicular to an axial flow direction. Since conventional radiators are substantially quadrangular , the airflow in the corners of the radiators is very low. Consequently, the heat transferring surfaces in the corners of a conventional radiator do not provide an effective cooling of a coolant, flowing in the radiator.
A high performance radiator fan includes an axial fan and a centrifugal fan. The axial fan has a plurality of arched-shaped blades located between a protrusive circular hub and a closed motor shell for drawing airflow from the upper end of the axial fan through the curved blades into the centrifugal fan. The airflow is converged and spun out at high speed and great volume by centrifugal force to enhance heat dissipation efficiency
The object of the invention is to provide a radiator arrangement in which substantially all heat transferring surfaces of the radiator provide an effective cooling of the coolant flowing in the radiator. According to the invention, the radiator arrangement comprises a radiator fan, which provides a radial airflow and a radiator having an annular extension around the periphery of the radial radiator fan. The radial radiator fan provides a substantially uniform airflow in all radial direction through the annular radiator. Thereby, the coolant obtains an effective cooling at substantially all heat transferring surfaces of the annular radiator.
