portland slag cement is manufactured by us as per is: 455 by inter-grinding not less than 35% of ordinary portland cement clinker and granulated blast furnace slag. It has the advantages in generating heat less quickly than opc. Because of its high sulphate resistance, it is used in sea water construction. Rashmi cement would like to bring to attention a few technical practices being strictly followed in our plant to ensure that we maintain the same standards as any leading market brand and this has brought us tremendous acceptability among the major builders across the country.

our group produces pig iron of customer choice with a 215 m3 mbf of trf design of brazil, at kharagpur & producing about 2,00,000 ton per year.

the plant is producing pig iron of high quality low phosphorous and low sulphur material for foundry and special grade ideal for manufacturing precision castings, automobile, crankshafts, gears rolls for rolling mill, motor housings , railways equipments and machine tools etc. The plant would be one of the suppliers of such grades in eastern india & other parts of the country.

we have been trading in iron ore/ clinkers coal and other universal products for a long time. We are supplying iron ore to most of the sponge iron and mini blast furnaces plants located in eastern and central india. We are also supplying iron ore fines to all major exporters. The trading activities combined with railway logistics at the mine area are expected to grow phenomenally.

the rashmi group of companies have set up two railway sidings. One of the sidings is in barbil which is called the hub/centre of iron ore and other one is at gokulpur, at our mini blast furnace plant. The private siding at barbil is in operational since august 2006 with one loading line and one engine escape line. The siding is provided with a weighbridge. The loading platform is 20 m wide which can accommodate stacking of iron as well as fully mechanized loading to the wagons.

the siding at gokulpur is provided with two loading/ unloading lines with one engine escape line. Three loading / unloading platforms have been provided suitable for fully mechanized loading / unloading facilities.

sponge iron / direct reduced iron (dri) is so named because iron ore reduced to metallic iron without melting first. It is basically a manufactured high ferrous content change material for iron and steel making. It is produced in lump or pellet form, compacted and briquette form known as hat briquette iron (hbi). It is the main substitute for steel form known as hat briquette iron (hbi). It is the main substitute for steel scrap in steel making. Sponge iron production requires small quantity of energy, as no melting process is involved. The dri assumed nick name sponge iron due to its appearance of sponge under microscope. The technology is available indigenously.
