Compression Fittings Compression type fittings are most widely accepted practice on EHV lines because of its high Mechanical reliability and Electrical continuity. For distribution line bolted type clamps are popular mainly because of easier installation, without any special tool, maintenance advantage and continuity of jumper. However because of vibration and loosening problems quite often localized heating affects performance and cause outage. Compression type fittings for small diameter conductor has become popular mainly because of its superiority in Electrical conductivity. These are very suitable for AAC, AAAC & ACSR conductor of small diameter. This installation can be done by mechanical crimper having provision for changing dies suitable for hexagonal crimping. While for AAC and AAAC hand mechanical crimper can be used upto a conductor diameter of 16 mm, for ACSR it is not recommended above 14 mm size.
The compression type fittings represent the best technical solution for the High Voltage Transmission Lines both from mechanical and Electrical Point of view. Counter Weights Available in various sizes in galvanised cast iron. Suitable 'u' bolts & fittings for attachments also supplied. Jointing Sleeves These can be supplied for all conductor & earthwire sizes. Aluminium joints are extruded type and steel joints of galvanized special steel.
Galvanized steel joints supplied for earthwires. Compression is done from round to hexagonal shape. Universal jointing compound for electrical connections is available on request. Mid Span Joints These can be supplied for all conductor & earthwire sizes. Aluminium joints are extruded type and steel joints of galvanised special steel.

Mid span joints & dead end fitting will develop minimum 95% of ultimate strength of the conductor and earthwire.
Dead ends & mid span joints have conductivity not less than conductor. Compression is done from round to hexagonal shape. Universal jointing compound for electrical connections is available on request. Preformed Armour Rods Available in high strength, high conductivity aluminum alloy for both tapered and performed type.
Ferruels, dies and presses for tapered rods available on request. Performed rods are ball ended type for corona free performance and can be applied without tools. Repair Sleeves These are available in extruded aluminium for all conductor sizes. Galvanized steel is used in case of earthwire. Spacer Dampers Available for EHV lines for corona free performances in multiple conductor systems.Spacer dampers are available for both bush type and armour grip type. Using spacer dampers will have two fold benefit as they act as spacers and dampers, hence using separate dampers, spacers is avoided. Products are designed to withstand tensile, slip, mechanical, compressive and fatigue endurance for longitudnal, horizontal and subspan oscillations including short circuit forces. Vibration Damper Dampers are of Stockbridge type with efficient one bolt grip and ease of application even on live line. Weights are of galvanized iron, clamp of aluminum alloys & steel cable of high tensile galvanized stranded wires protected with flexible sheathing. |
