Application:

Impulse Voltage Generator is required for the application of Lightning Impulse Voltage of duration 1.2/ 50 µs between the capacitor terminals and body. The load capacitance will be of order of 1.0pF to 20nF (generally as per IS-13340-1993 and other relevant specifications)

Cable Fault Burning Unit

We manufacture cable fault burning unit according to the clients needs and specification.

Input 400/415 V 2 phases of 3 phase supply
Output 0-750/ 1500/ 3000/ 5000 V/ 10000V
Duty 5 minutes ON/OFF.

The unit is in two parts:

  1. Main Transformer
  2. Control Panel with Regulator

The Main Transformer will be step up type and will have OFF load tap changer for each voltage. Casted wheels shall be provided for ease of movement. The control Panel cum Regulating Transformer will have zero start interlocking with by-pass switch. It will have tripping on the primary side and also Ammeter, Multi range Voltmeter calibrated to indicate secondary voltage shall be provided. The unit can be used as High voltage tests upto 1000V. The unit will be designed for 5 minutes duty and will have sufficient capacity for burning fault. The Main HV Transformer and the Regulating Transformer will be oil cooled type.

‘RE’ Impulse Generators operates under a control system, which charges the impulse generator by the  charging unit.

‘RE’ Impulse Generators operates under a control system, which charges the impulse generator by the  charging unit. Charging time and charging voltage can be selected. Once the selected charging voltage has been reached, a trigger pulse initiates the firing of the lowest spark-gap of the impulse generator. When all the spark-gaps fired all the stages are connected in series thus multiplying the charging voltage. The impulse voltage divider reduces he impulse voltage to a value that the measuring and recording instruments require.

The unit shall be complete with knob to control the current and power factor independently.
