In the year 1995, the then Hon ble Chief Minister of Orissa, Late Shri. Biju Patnaik encouraged us whole heartedly with active support by Shri. Pyari Mohan Mohapatra, IAS, to set-up this risk-taking venture Sponge Iron Plant in Orissa. Accordingly with their benevolent and honest co-operation from the Govt. s level, it has come up in a remote area i.e. Village Kumakela under Bonai Sub-Division in Dist. Sundargarh, Orissa, with a very low capital investment & financial support jointly by IPICOL & OSFC.

The State has been earning a very good amount of its revenue through Sponge Iron plants as at present approx. 70 coal-based units are running successfully in the country, after the success of REXON. Over and above the benefits like 90% employment, Commercial growth, Periphery development etc. are being extended to the local people.

he company started commercial production from 03.01.1996 and after that it has climbed up the stairs of success year after year with high optimistic future shape of the company to become pride of the state of Orissa.

The company has got manufacturing facilities of 300000 TPA Iron Ore Pellets, 60000TPA Sponge Iron and 25000 TPA M.S.Ingot situated in a remote area in Vill. Kumakela, Via. Lathikata 23kms away from the Steel City of Rourkela on NH-23 having close proximity to the source of major raw-materials & market with best infrastructural facilities.
