Today the products are widely used in Paint, Printing Ink, Laminating Varnishes Industries as their basic raw material . Mr Nilesh Kumar Jain is a Chemical Engineer who had over a decade of experience in the products and his contribution to the Resins and Paint Industries has been enormous. He is closely associated with many industrial and trade associations some of the major associations he associated are FAPCCI ? Producing 40 tonnes per month with hardly five workers in the beginning today they are producing more than 120 tonnes per month with twenty workers. Rishabh Polymers Pvt.Ltd., is manufacturing Synthetic Resins called Alkyds, Phenolic Resins & Maleic used in Printing Ink and Paint Industries. The technology used in formulation of Resins is the latest and finished products are subject to strict quality control measures before dispatch. The company has technical tie-up for technology transfer of Single Pack Polyurethane Systems exclusively developed by Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad for the application in manufacturing of high quality Chemical Resistant Paint. The company is also negotiating with a German firm for the future expansion plans in the field of high grade Phenolic Resins extensively used in Automobile, Rubber and Abrasive Wheel Industries. It is the first SSI unit exporting Resins based on CNSL and Cardanol which had already exported to Asian and African countries. III) Allow to Exotherm 100 deg.C. IV)Reflux for 3 hours. V)Check for free Formaldehyde then allow for atmospheric distillation upto 160 deg.C VI)Start Vaccum and check inclined flow @ 150 deg.C after distillation is over VII)Check for Gel testing and check the inclined flow should be between 11 to 16 cms hold for 20 seconds + 80 seconds running. VIII)Discharge in Trays and allow for packing INSPECTION STAGES 1)RAW MATERIALS (a) Phenol - % Assy i) Freezing Point Method ii) Acid Test iii) Volumetric estimation by bromination method. iv) To estimate moisture content by Karl ? Fischer (b)Formaldehyde - % Assy Volumetric estimation by interacting with anhy. Sodium sulphite using thymolphthalein as indicator. CAL : TV X 3.003 X N.of HCL Wt. of sample taken. (c) Oxalic Acid - % Assy : Volumetric estimation using mild Alkaline solution, Phenolphthalein as indicator. 2) PROCESS CONTROLS a)Free Formaldehyde Condensed form of Vapours as known weight of 1.5 to 2 grams is taken in a Erlenmeyer Flask treated with 10 cc of 10% hydroxyl Amine Hydrochloride using Bromophenol blue indicator is allowed to stand for 10 minutes and titrated against standard HCL. End point is appearance of yellow colour. Conduct Blank. (B-S) X N. of HCL X 3.003 Calculation : Wt. of condensate b) GEL TEST :- Hot Plate maintained at 150 deg. C. Heat the sample in Aluminium dish until whole water is eliminated. The final clear mass is allowed to cool and reheated it should melt indicates the product is absolutely thermoplastic. c) Pellet Flow :- Once the material has achieved Max Temp 160 deg.C. and subjected to Vacuum for ? hour and there is no elimination of volatiles, draw sample from Reactor.
