STM GOLDThese dark purple/black colored tools are coated with TiAlN which makes them ideal for machining abrasion resistant machines with difficult to machine materials such as cast iron, aluminum alloys, tool steels and nickel alloys. TiAlN coating should be applied on tools used for machining applications which generate highest heat levels at the cutting edge. This makes the tools an excellent choice for interrupted cutting operations, free of edge brittleness and can be used for interrupted cuts without chipping. The superior oxidation resistance of TiAlN provides unparalleled performance in high temperature machining.

STM NANOThese blue-grey colored tools are layered with Aluminium Chromium Nitride which exhibits extraordinary performance in dry and wet machining processes involving unalloyed steels, high strength steels and high hardness steels (upto 50 HRC). The AlCr-based coating displays excellent hardness and high resistance to abrasion. Owing to this, blue-grey color endmills benefits from high level of oxidation resistance and has a service temperature range up to 1,100 degrees C, a micro-hardness (HV 0.05) of 3,000. Further, the multi-layered PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating imparts high shear strength and ensures uniform degeneration. This results in improved toughness and reduced tendency of the cutting edge to crack. And, the extremely smooth surface provided by the coating greatly improves chip flow during milling.
