A stop sign is an example of Informatory Signage’s which are mostly used to give the instruction on something. These are legibly printed on a very noticeable placard that can be easily seen by people.

Initially signs were crafted out of wood and then acme the stage when they were hand-painted. Other way to create signs is to individually construct the letters carved from wood, molded or wrought from metal and then individually place in the correct sequence.

In today’s date with the help of the advanced technologies available these methods are very rarely used. Computers can easily control these woodworking machines and offer greater consistency. Owing to the advent of plastics molded signage has changed significantly as plastics are cheaper and flexible. Apart from these new age computer-cut vinyl signage technology has come into existence.

Caution Signage’s is a type of warning sign that indicates the hazard on the road which is not readily visible to the driver. In most countries, these are in the shape of an equilateral triangle with a white background and a thick red border. However, both the color of the background and the color and thickness of the border vary from country to country.

In the People's Republic of China, warning signs appear with a black border and a yellow background. In Sweden, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Finland, Iceland, the Republic of Macedonia and Poland, they have a red border with an amber background.

In some countries these warning signs are diamond shaped. In the United States, Canada, Mexico, Thailand, Australia, Japan, Philippines, and Malaysia warning signs are black on a yellow background and usually diamond-shaped.
