Roller Guide

We manufacture two types of roller guides for guiding various sections for rod mills operating at high final rolling speeds.

  • Entry Roller Guide
  • Exit Twin Roller Guide
Entry Roller Guide     
  • The 1000-series is Morgårdshammar´s latest developed
  • series of roller guides for guiding of various sections.
  • It has been developed with the experience from the very
  • successful and well known 900-series.
  • The series is available as Single pair Roller guide, SR,
  • and Double pair Roller guide, DR.
  • The guide line during the development of the Morgårdshammar 1000-series guides have been Strength & Precision which have resulted in a overall upgrading in respect of material quality, tolerances and bearing sizes. This will result in a high accuracy guiding of the rolled product with the benefit of a high quality end product for our customers.
  • The 1000-series feature an identical patented central setting arrangement as the 900-series guides. Which means that the guides are equipped with a single point adjustment for setting the distance between the rollers for both SR and DR versions.
  • The development on the setting device compared to the 900-series is that the cam is operated by means of a worm gear. The arrangement guaranteeing an absolute accurate setting of the guide rollers and in addition is it self-locking.
  • The design also allows the possibility to adapt a remote control device.
Exit Twin Roller Guide     
This Guide represents a complete new range of twisters in a unique design which has been developed with the aim of:
  • Cantilever design to increase rigidity and reduce centre height of rest bar.
  • Cantilever design allows increase of guide rollers, resulting in increased roller and bearing life.
  • This design achieves optimal use of the roll barrel, due to the symmetrical guide design which allows installation in upturned position.
  • Due to the unique design maintenance is simplified and with the reduced number of components, spare parts are kept to a minimum.
  • All adjustment operations can be carried out with a single 24/36 mm wrench.

Oil Lubrication System

We offer a range of morgon oil or grease lubrication system, which are designed to feed the bearing of mill stands. These are designed to deliver superior pumping operations. The use of high performance oriented electric motors also allow them to efficiently draw oil from reservoir tanks. 

Features:
  • Incorporated with electric motor driven gear pumps to draw oil from reservoir tank
  • Check valves are after the pump to prevent the back flow of oil.
  • Water cooled heat exchanger to bring down the temperature
  • Light & compact, hence easy placeable and shiftable
100 NB piping helps in oil passing and its distribution to the bearings as per the requirements. The return oil is brought back from bearings to the settler through 150NB piping.

Twin channel machines offered by us find application in the rolling mill plants. These are available up to bar sizes of 40mm in die and offer solution to high speed handling of bar at cooling beds. The machines are also designed to make it possible for working in conjunction with braking pinch rolls, minimizing the length of run-in.

Volume Hardened Gear Boxes

Our range of products also consists of volume hardened gear boxes and pinion stands. These are designed to meets the functional needs of our clients. These are explained as follows:
  • Gear boxes: Our gear boxes are designed to be particularly used for driving of roughing and intermediate trains. These are hardened, forged and tempered alloy steel. The gear boxes are caged in a sturdy fabricated steel housing. These are made durable to bear overloads that result due to flywheel fitted on the input shaft.
  • Pinions: Our precision engineered pinions are used in roughing and intermediate mill trains. They are available 2 Hi/ 3Hi configurations. The pinions are made of hardened and tempered alloy steel. The pinions are also caged in a sturdy fabricated steel housing. It has a durable built which enables it to bear loads resulting due to rolling.
