SAMPARC was started with a very humble purpose to give a new identity to the orphan, destitute & children of sex workers to grow under community umbrella. SAMPARC is a brainchild of Shri Amit kumar Banerjee & Smt. Lata Pande who realized that an organization needs to be started so that children should not be identified as children of sex workers or orphans or as a destitute child. With this sole purpose SAMPARC was started in 1990 at the footsteps of famous Bhaje Caves with 7 orphan children near Lonavla.
With a clear vision in mind and determination in our hearts, we are meticulously working towards the upliftment of socially marginalized children and women. A large section of the society is leading a miserable life, either marginalized due to peculiar social norms or it simply does not have means to sail smoothly in this turbulent world. Some of the prominent initiatives taken by us for rehabilitating orphan children, children of sex workers and all other needy, poor and disadvantaged children are Bhaje Balgram, Shel-Pimpalgaon Balgram, Poynad Balgram and Bal Asha Ghar. We also run Anjar Balgram (Gujarat), Shishu Kendra Kolkatta (West Bengal) and a School & Hostel in Bhambarde. We ensure that these children do not have to live with the stigma of being 'children of sex workers' or orphan children
