Loom Switch & Interior Switch

Construction:

• The complete mechanism is enclosed in a gully insulated DMC moulded housing having excellent combination of mechanical and electrical properties
• Phase barriers are provided for protection against phase to phase flashover
• The switches are designed for base mounting
• All steel components are zinc plated and current carrying parts are silver plated

Operating Mechanism:

• Front handle operation enables formation of concise and smaller panels
• Sturdy operating handle incorporates features such as fool proof cover locking, inter lock with defeat facility, and padlocking for safety locking in OFF condition
• Telescopic adjustable handle shaft is provided for maximum flexibility in order to suit varied mounting positions and to make them compatible to the bus bars

Contacts and Contact Mechanism:

• The contact system comprises of spring loaded, butt-type contacts
• There are multi fingers (eight per phase) in higher ratings
• Due to the multiple fingers, each section carries only a fraction of the total current
• Because of their special alignment, only two per phase are subjected to make-break
• Hence, the contact life of the rest of the fingers is high and the switch maintains low energy losses throughout its life
• Due to the double break per pole (one each on incoming & outgoing), the fuses are positively isolated from both the ends in “OFF” position ensuring safety during maintenance
• They are particularly advantageous in ring distribution network where the network is fed from both sides

Enclosers:

• These switches are normally used in open execution for panel mounting
• However, they are also available in enclosures
• The enclosures are made of sheet steel which are robustly built, chemically phosphatized and electrostatically powder painted
• Ideally suited for adverse environmental conditions

SBC Main Switch:

• SBC Main Switch has been designed and developed to offer solutions sought by discerning customers where ease of installation and operation is required
• The switches are compact and available in ratings 250A, 400A, 630A & 800 A with highly sensitive and reliable fuses

• The silver alloy contacts have a long electrical life as they operate in a double break contact system with minimum bounce

• Only lifting the moving contact carrier with screw driver on the contacts is good enough to  pull out the contact

b)     Magnet System

• The laminated construction is designed for losses shedding rings provided to reduce hum and chatter

c)      Coil

• The coil is tropicalised for trouble free services and long life
• The plug-in type coil is accessible from front
• Wide range of coils offer a choice of control voltages

d)     Mounting

• The electric contactors can be mounted in any position in vertical plane
• The mounting holes are easily accessible and three point mounting minimizes assembly time.

e)     Spares and Accessories

• A spares kit containing fixed and moving contacts, screws and washers is available
• Mechanically interlocked pairs of electric contactors are available for sequential operation
• The thermal overload relays suitable for electric contactors are available in ranges from 0.15-0.25A to 10-16A
• Separately mounted relays are available in ranges from 13-21A to 20-32A
