The group started manufacturing activity 3 decades back on a small piece of land and man power on only 3 persons at BHAVNAGAR in the state of Gujarat in India.
The founder of the group Mr. Harshad Rathod was a technocrat and a visionary under whose leadership the group started manufacturing of Non ferrous castings, mainly catering to mini steel plants and Rolling Mills. In 1991 the group established new manufacturing facilities at SIHOR, a small but busy little Industrial town near Bhavnagar. Here the group started manufacturing of Cast Iron Ingots and moulds under the name Sanjay Castings. Since 1991 the group has made phenomenal growth both in terms of production and turn over. Under the able leadership of the current CEO Mr. Sanjay Rathod the group has blossomed in to a major player not only in India but in overseas market also. Spear headed by the flagship company Sanjay Castings two more companies have been established namely SANJAY IRON & STEEL INDUSTRIES & SANJAY CATINGS (INDIA) PVT LTD. to augment the production capacity and increase significantly the exports. In fact SANJAY CASTINGS (India) PVT LTD is established as a 100% Export Oriented Unit. These companies have established themselves very well in the market and have become major players in both domestic as well as export markets. From a small turn over of INR 11 Millions during 1991-92 the group has witnessed a substantial growth and the turn over in 2006-07 has reached INR 400 Millions. The group is regularly exporting to African & Asian countries and has ambitious marketing plans to export in the European countries and the USA.
