Tricalcium phosphate I.P is used in powdered spices as an anti-caking agent. It is a white powder and is insoluble in water. It is stable under ordinary conditions with a pH os 6-8%. It is used in softening water, detergent mixture, aluminum work pieces, photographic developers, mineral enrichment, etc.

Dicalcium phosphate I.P, also known as calcium monohydrogen phosphate, is a dibasic calcium phosphate. It is usually found as the dihydrate. It is practically insoluble in water. It is mainly used as a dietary supplement in prepared breakfast cereals, enriched flour and noodle products. It is also used as a tableting agent in some pharmaceutical preparations.
