APPLICATION:

“Hindustan” brand crane duty motors are specially designed for frequent starts/stops & reversing required in cranes & lifts of all types. They can also be used in applications such as material handling, weirs & sluices, auxiliary motors in rolling mills or wherever intermittent drives are required.

CONSTRUCTION:

Castings: “Hindustan” crane duty motors’ housings & endshields are made from high quality castings as per IS: 210. All components are machined to correct accuracy & alignment. Stampings: The stampings are made from low loss high permeability steel.

We offer Cooling Tower Motors that are totally enclosed flange mounted motors used in refrigeration and air conditioning industries. These motors are provided with long shaft construction with external threaded end that directly mount the fan blades. This shaft construction further helps in the better cooling of motor. INTRODUCTION:

‘HINDUSTAN’ Cooling tower motors are specially designed flange mounted motors in totally enclosed construction to suit air conditioning & refrigeration industries. They are provided with special long shaft construction with external threaded end to directly mount the fan blades. This also helps in the better cooling of the motor. Motors are compact in design & less in weight to facilitate easy maintenance. They are available as standard catalogue designs or as custom built.

We offer Flame Proof Motors  in which the flame proof enclosures consists of cast iron parts that are very liberally designed. These are designed in such manner that the frame temperature will remain below the ignition temperature of gas-air mixture. The joints are carefully machined and rigidly inspected to ensure that gaps does not exceeds. These motors finds application in various industries including refineries, coal mines and petrochemicals.

RANGE:

HINDUSTAN flameproof motors Ex‘d’ are available from frame sizes 63 FLP to 280M FLP in 2, 4, 6 & 8 pole designs. The motors are suitable for continuous duty (S1), ignition groups G1 to G4 or temperature class T1 to T4 as per IS 6381 with ambient temperature of 45ºC & site altitudes of upto 1000 meters above mean sea level.

DESIGN FEATURES

The flameproof enclosure consists of sturdy cast iron parts, which are mechanically robust & very liberally designed. The cast iron enclosure of motors is built to withstand any internal explosion. The gaps of joints & where the shaft passes through the frame are so dimensioned as to prevent transmission of igniting flame to the surrounding atmosphere. The motors are so designed that the frame temperature will remain below the ignition temperature of the gas-air mixture involved. All cast iron parts forming the flameproof enclosure are tested at 14kg/cm2 (required 10kg/cm2) hydraulic pressure. All the seats of joints are carefully machined to strict tolerances & rigidly inspected to ensure that the permissible gaps are not exceeded. Flameproof motors are manufactured to serve the industries such as coalmines, refineries, petro-chemical industries where flammable gases, vapours, fumes & coal dust are natural atmospheric hazards. The motors comply with Indian Standard IS: 2148-1981 for gas groups I, IIA, IIB & IIC. These motors can be used in all divisions I & certain division II areas as laid down in guide for selection of electrical equipment in hazardous area as per IS: 5571-1979.

The Brake Motors offered by us are used where instant stopping of driven load is required. It is the combination of an electromagnetic AC or DC brake and an A.C. induction motor. These are simple, durable and rugged and are easy to maintain. Separate DC supply is not required as rectifier is provided inside the main terminal box to supply the required DC voltage for the brakes. The motor finds application in textile machinery, cranes & hoists, machine tools, printing machinery, rolling mills and material handling equipment.

CONSTRUCTION:
MODEL:

Brake Motors are used for various applications where instantaneous stopping of the driven load is required. The operation of the brake is “FAIL SAFE TYPE” i.e. normally ON. When the electrical power to the motor is cut–off or the power fails, the brake is applied. Brake motor is a combination of an A.C. induction motor and an electromagnetic AC or DC brake. The electromagnetic brake is mounted on the non–driving end of the motor. DC brake motors are provided with a rectifier which provides the required DC voltage to the brake coil which in turn operates the brake. The supply to the rectifier is fed from any two terminals(between any two phases) in the main terminal box of the motor. General applications of Brake motors are printing machinery, textile machinery, rolling mills, cranes & hoists, material handling equipments, machine tools etc.

WORKING:

When the power to the motor is switched off, a braking torque is generated which presses the armature plate of the brake against the mounting flange. When the supply resumes, a magnetic field is produced in the brake coil and this pulls the armature plate against the spring force and the shaft is now free to rotate.

Motors are designined for 3 phase, 415v, 10% & 50Hz,  5% with combined variation of 10% any other voltage & or frequency is available on request.
 
STANDARDS :    
Motors conforms to IS:325, IEC 34, Part 1 & BS 4999 for electrical specifications & IS:1231 for mechanical dimensions.

TERMINAL BOX POSITION :
Standard location of the terminal  box is on top. However for frame sizes 90 to 315, the terminal box on right or left side can provided on requested. The terminal box can be rotated in steps of 90* in each position.

PROTECTION :
The motors are designed with class F  insulation & IP55 degree of protection as per IS:4691 & IEC 34, part 5.

CONNECTION:
Motors upto 2HP are star connected with 3 leads & from 3 HP onwords they are delta conected with 6 leads.
