SMI manufactures ‘P’ and ‘A’ type brackets, which are made of high quality manganese or Aluminum Bronze and fitted with water lubricated cut less bearings. The ‘P’ brackets are used to support the shaft system along with the propeller. The cross section of the ‘p’ bracket is of hydrofoil section, which gives least resistance to the flow of water &thus helps to improve the efficiency of the boat. The scope of supply includes base bracket, water lubricated bush & the set of screws. They are manufactured as per design of the naval architect or as per the drawing & specifications of the customers.

In addition a large range of sterngear equipments are available to suit most requirements including Nyloc nuts. The rudders are vital part of any boat, since the direction control is done by the ruder system .They are mainly classified as fabricated rudder and cast rudder .The fabricated rudders are manufactured according to the boat builders requirements and standards .These are manufactured with high quality stainless steel material like S.S 304 or S.S 316 which consists of shafts & blade. The cast rudders are mainly used for high speed crafts. They are specially made of nickel aluminum bronze manganese bronze aluminum bronze.

Bearings are the integral part of the stern gear system which is mainly designed for marine application. The bearings are specially made of tough nitrile rubber or neoprene rubbers, which are resistant to corrosion and which can withstand abrasion & wear. Rubber and water make the perfect combination for a bearing material and a lubricant. Bearings are further classified into flange & flangeless bearings. SMI also manufacture non metallic shell series. Bearings are manufactured to a size of 25mm up to 175mm in diameter & various lengths.
