About UsSarjan Biotech was established in 2005 at Village Gada, Ta.Bhuj, Dist. Kutch and started construction of Tissue Culture Laboratory with a capacity of 10,00,000 plants per annum. The company entered the market with Banana var. Grand naine (G-9) tissue culture plants in 2006. Results obtained encouraged the company to expand the production capacity to 20,00,000 in 2007 and now the production capacity of the company in its ultra modern laboratory is 50,00,000 per annum. Beside Banana, company is also producing tissue culture plants of Roses, Stevia, Gerbera, Anthurium, Parwal, etc. The company has further expanded the product range with the help of experts and equipped itself for production of Guava, Citrus (Kagdi Lime) and Strawberry. It has initiated ambitious programme of Date Palm tissue culture for which the material (off-shoots) from the best Date Palm trees of Kutch have been procured.
The laboratory building covers the area of 8000 sq.ft. consisting of Media preparation room, hot room, store room, office block, washing room, media storage room, culture (growth) rooms, inoculation rooms, control room, R.O. room, etc. It is equipped with automatic bottle washing machine, auto media dispersing machine, pH meter, high precision electronic analytical balance, EC/TDS meter, R.O. plant (R.O. water available in each room through separate cock) + quartz distillation unit, laminar air flow cabinets (20), timers for temperature as well as photoperiod, autoclaves (4 big + 2 small) installed with boiler. The growth rooms and inoculation rooms are fitted with FRP panels and double walled with glass wool between the walls which maintained atmosphere of these room constant and optimum for best response. The entire block is provided with positive air pressure modules which maintain aseptic conditions in growth and inoculation rooms. The power supply is through 24 hrs electricity line supported with three generators in case of power failures. The company has its own bore well and water harvesting system.
In all 40 operators are working on two seaters 20 laminar air flow cabinets. The operations are monitored through CTV cameras installed everywhere. Stick hygienic conditions are maintained by all the operators. There are three technician looking after all the operations of the laboratory beside preparing the media. There are few operators quarters near the laboratory building. The residential bunglow of Managing Director, Mr. Harish P. Nagda is also in the laboratory premises.
The company has huge complex of modern poly houses (10,000 sq..ft.) equipped with auto controls for humidity and temperature and net houses (60,000 sq.ft.). The company also has at its disposal agricultural land of 20 acres for raising mother plants. The company has tie-up for marketing with Unnati Agro Pvt. Ltd. and also established linkage for secondary hardening of banana tissue culture plants in banana growing areas etc. |
