Compiled here are the sacred texts, scriptures, and other influential books of the world's major religions. The list is by no means comprehensive and there are dozens of other books that are considered important by adherents of the world's 4,000 religions. The books are highly regarded not only by adherents of the religions they are associated with, but also by readers of other religions for their literary, dramatic, and spiritual merits.

Harihar is constituted of two words "Hari" which stands for Lord Vishnu and "Har" which stands for Lord Shankar. The entire nature is driven by Lord Vishnu whereas Lord Shankar is considered as Lord of Nature Balance. It is this sacred combination which led to the creation of word Harihar.
