Mycotoxin detection using HPLC

Romer cell and Romer Derivatization Unit (RDU) are used for the better analysis of mycotoxins post HPLC.

Romer cell is an electrochemical cell used for derivatising the Aflatoxins by releasing bromine from the cell itself.

The Romer® Derivatization Unit (RDU™) is a photochemical post-column derivatization for the determination of aflatoxins by HPLC-FLD.

For sensitive determination of aflatoxins, the aflatoxins B1 and G1 must be derivatized in order to enhance their natural fluorescence.

This may be done with ease photochemically with the RDU

·         No need for the use of chemicals (save money and no exposure to poisonous/harmful materials)

·         Increase the lifetime of the HPLC system (no aggressive acid in the capillaries)

·         No necessity for flushing

·         Performance is equivalent to the electrochemical device (bromination)
