Introduction

Established in the year 1995, weShantara Insulators”, are a well-known manufacturer, exporter and trader for Electrical Insulators/Bushings. All these products are manufactured in our advanced production unit, equipped with latest machines. Moreover, we have qualified professionals who are provided with periodic training required for proper measuring and mixing of raw material. Also, we ensure that the products we provide meet the specific requirements of our customers spreaded across the globe.

To streamline this production process, we have the support of best technology and sharpest of engineers. We also ensure proper product storage and it is only after techno-commercial confirmation that entry is done. All these factors have earned us reputed client like Crompton Greaves, L&T, ABB, Bombardier Transportation Ltd and wide customer base in countries like Germany, USA, France, Brazil, China and UK.   • Rs. 1,50,00,000 in putting up a polymeric insulator plant to make insulators up to 72 KV

Quality Assurance

Being a quality conscious organization we make sure to provide the customers with the best. For this, we make use of top-notch raw material that has capacity to bear corrosive environment. Also, products we offer are subject to different tests like mechanical tests, tensile tests, cantilever and pressure tests. All this checking is done under the expert supervision of our quality auditors. In addition to this, our products undergo following stages during the production process:

 

Incoming material inspection

  • Firstly material is checked for the quantity
  • Raw material is checked by physical inspection
  • Trial batch of the material is taken to confirm its chemical contents. This is in case of products like Binders, fillers and other additives
  • Storage & stores entry is done after proper techno-commercial confirmation
  • Before transferring the material to the finishing and glazing department, curing cycle of the material is maintained

 

Quality check during production

 

  • To give optimum result during production, all machines are checked and maintained as per their cycle
  • Thorough training is routinely given to people involved in production for measuring and mixing of raw material
  • Training is also given to people involved in production of insulators
  • Care is taken to produce the best possible quality, by constant involvement of supervisor and seniors
  • Record is maintained for the production made. Rejections, if any are taken care of by improving the production method
  • Curing cycle of the material is maintained religiously, before transferring the material to the finishing and glazing department

 

Quality check and tests carried out after production

  • After production and curing, physical check is done on the insulators
  • Dimensional inspection is carried out as per drawing
  • Electrical tests are done by taking the insulators to the lab
  • After confirmation of all the values, the insulators are finally taken for glazing and packing
  • The final physical inspection is done before dispatch

Our Infrastructure

We have an advanced infrastructure spread across 11,000 square feet and a shed area of 4000 square feet. Also, this infrastructure has different units, which are well equipped with all the requisite facilities. Our units like quality control, production and R&D work in harmony and ensure flawless production. In addition to this, we have highly efficient machines installed in our production unit, which are as follows:

  • Molding machines: 24 Nos (3 Semi automatic, 17 manual) , good to process 5 tons of material in 24 hour shift or 5000 Nos, 33kV insulators per month
  • Vibratory molding machines: 2 Nos, can process 300 Kgs in 24 Hour shift
  • High capacity vacuum pumps: 3 Nos
  • Electrical testing equipment: 100kV
  • Pressure testing machine: - up to 60kG/cm2
  • Cantilever testing machine: up to 2 Tons
  • Hot air oven: 2 Nos
  • Steam chamber: 1, can process 22 insulators
  • Plastic injection molding machines: 1
  • Arrester crimping machines: 1, for 1000 Units per day
  • Disconnecter assembly units: 20 Nos
  • Resin manufacturing plants: 200 Ltr.

 

We also follow a well defined production planning process which is as follows :-

  • Receipt of purchase order
  • Acknowledgment of order and confirmation of dispatch date
  • Entry of PO in pending order register
  • Procurement planning of raw material as per order schedule
  • Production planning after receipt and inspection of material
  • Execution of production and dispatch after final inspection of material

 

Plans For Factory Production In Case Of Natural Calamity

Our organization also have association with big group of companies, that hold expertise in making electrical products. In addition to this, for future expansion we have acquired 60,000 square feet of land along with having a unit named Radiant Insulators in Mumbai. This Mumbai unit is widely spread across 10000 sq ft and it is at this place that our future production will start shortly.
