APPLICATIONS : BENZOPHENONE 12 is a highly effective substituted benzophenone ultraviolet light absorber that is readily soluble in most polymers. B-12 is particularly suited to providing maximum protection to polymers of ethylene, propylene, vinyl chloride, styrene, ethylene vinly acetate and to protective coatings based upon these polymers.

As a result of its unique preferential absorption characteristics in the 2900 to 4000 A^. of the U V Spectrum, it imparts a high level of resistance to photodegradation of the polymer.

 

Generally, the incorporation of 0.1 to1.0% (Based on polymer weight)of B-12 is required.

TOXICITY

For polymers, B-12 is permitted for use as a stabilizer in olefin polymers at levels not exceeding 1.0 percent weight of the polymer.
