 | Taper Jib Specifications
- Jib, also known as gib or wedge or key, is used for minimizing the clearance between male and female parts of a slide unit.
- Wear out, caused by normal use of a machine, is compensated through jib adjustment.
- Jibs can be of different dimensions and shape - plain, taper or with different angles, depending upon the application.
- Generally jibs are made of stress-relieved C-45 material. For some applications, CI jibs are also used.
- The lengths of the jibs can vary from 100 mm to 1500 mm. Their height can be 10 mm to 40 mm and thickness can be from 3 mm to 20 mm. The side angle can be 50º, 55º, 60º, 90º or so.
- Generally jibs are offered after machining. If required, scrapped or ground jibs are also offered with or without turkite lining. Oil grooves are also offered optionally on the sliding surfaces.
- For HMT & BFW milling machines, normally jibs are available in stock. For other machines and requirements, dimensional drawing or details of angle, minimum & maximum thickness, length and height are required.

 | Universal Milling Head Type: Multi Angle, Right Angle
Specifications
- It has infinite spherical contouring capability since the spindle axis can be set in any angle, at any degrees and at any plane - at circular planes or at oscillating plane or at a combination plane of both circular and oscillating positions. It tilts ±360° around the machine spindle axis; it tilts ±360° on its own spindle axis and it oscillate from front to back.
- The head consists of 2 pairs of spiral bevel gears and 3 rotating shafts provide 360° & 3 housings one for spindle, the second for the central module & and the 3rd for the mounting flange.
- The flange module and central module have circular T slots, so that the spindle module can tilt on the central module & the central module can tilt on the flange module.
- The spindle, having IS0-40 or ISO-50 taper. Gears, shafts, spindles are made of case hardened steel, case hardened and ground. The body, consisting of 3 modules, is made of stress-relieved cast iron. The spiral bevel gears get located in the shafts/spindles through adequately dimensioned & ground splines. Graduated collars with 1º least count are provided on the spindle and central module.
- It is ideal for mounting on Horizontal Milling Machine, Horizontal Boring Machine, Plano Miller etc. While central module and spindle module are standardized, the flange module is specially designed to suit the individual machines.
- We offer extended reach right angle attachment which is quite useful to machine the inaccessible, interior inner walls in huge housings.
- Right Angle Milling Attachments are also offered for the plano milling heads which permits machining or all the 4 sides of a rectangle job LH & RH sides and front and back sides. In combination with cross axis & vertical axis feed movement, a right angle head literally adds floor boring capability to the plano millers in table stationery position.

 | Flange Facer Specifications
- It is a portable VTL, ideal for massive and on-site jobs which cannot be accommodated on any machine. Instead of machine clamping the job, the flange facer is clamped to a job.
- Clamp it in the job bore for turning the OD; clamp it on the job OD for turning the ID. Possible to chamfer ID & OD.
- Optional powered feed system for the tool post for boring operation.
- Self-powered unit head in Y axis for milling, boring, grinding etc.
- In ID clamp mode, 8 hydraulically operated cylinders and in OD clamp mode, 4 hydraulically operated cylinders rigidly clamp the flange facer to the job.
- Available from þ 600 mm to þ 5000 mm.
- A pair of pre-loaded, extra heavy duty taper roller bearings, located in an accurately dimensioned, forged alloy steel body constitutes the rotary drive unit.
- A vector VFD controlled motor and a worm reduction gear box provides step less rotational speeds from 1 to 20 RPM to the ram.
- Cross axis movement is through a worm reduction gear box, VFD controlled motor.
- Perfectly balanced ram ensures smooth cutting even when the cutting takes place in the extreme end position.
- Cross traverse of the tool head along the ram is through a VFD controlled motor and worm reduction gear box.
- Rotary movement of the ram and cross feed are synchronized through a PLC & limit switch mechanism.

 | Boring & Facing Head Machine Shenoy Engg Pvt Ltd, a Bangalore based SPM manufacturers, have developed a self powered boring and facing head. The unit can be mounted on a L shaped bracket or boring back rest or even on a planers. It is an ideal and economic alternative for facing and boring of small diameters in large jobs, which otherwise would need expensive machines.
Mounted on a frame, the unit becomes at-site, portable machine. The unit consists of a vertical slide unit, boring head and facing head. Boring head, which is mounted on the self-powered vertical slide, permits boring, milling, etc operations. Different rotational speed rates are offered either through gears or VFD or combination of both.
The ISO-50 spindle of the boring head accommodates a detachable, self powered facing unit. Mounted in the spindle of the boring head through a ISO-50 arbor. The rotary movement to the facing unit is received through the boring unit and depth of cut in facing operation is set through the vertical slide.
Both the feed units are with their respective motors, worm reduction gear boxes, lead screws and box nuts. A common VFD provides step-less variable feed range to the axes movement. A digital display of feed movement in mm per minute is provided in the console.
Imported, mercury based, brushless rotary electrical joint connector will ensure smooth rotation of the power cables of the cross feed motor through the spindle without being entwined or entangled.
The male sliding surfaces are with case hardened guideway strips and the female sliding surfaces are Turcite lined. An automatic lubrication system keeps lubricating the sliding and rotating surfaces continuously. Limit switches, mounted on the adjustable dogs, facilitate pre-setting of the feed end at the desired position.
Shenoy Engineering offers full pledged SPMs with auto-cycle for batch production, which is ideal for components like valve body, pump housing etc. | |

 | Ram Type Milling, Drilling Head Conventional milling heads with manual quill are mainly designed for milling operation. Depth of cut is set through the manual quill. Operations like drilling, boring operations are not practical through a conventional milling head for want of auto-feed to the quill. The generous clearance, inherently required in a cylindrical slide of a quill makes the feed based cutting operation less accurate and less rigid. Shenoy Engg Pvt Ltd introduces affordable ram type milling head to overcome the above limitations of the conventional quill mechanism. Ram type milling heads, hitherto seen mostly on imported Plano millers, are now made available for any make of planing machines which are to be converted into Plano millers and for replacement of existing, old Plano millers. They are available with 5 HP and above capacity of milling heads. The box type, square ram is guided in the housing and excess clearance in the sliding members is eliminated with the help of four taper jibs, which ensures high level of rigidity and consistent accuracy, even when the quill is extended to it’s maximum position. Combination of turcite and case-hardened guide way strips ensure a very high level of wear-resistance and make the ram slide smooth and friction-free. The quill feed is through a motor, gear box, lead screw & box nut mechanism. Step-less vertical feed of the ram movement is ensured through the common VFD (if ordered) with table & other axes feed mechanism. A scale and dog-operated limits switch mechanism facilitates depth of cut setting mechanism. If manual draw bolt is not preferred for arbor locking, EMA enabled automatic clamping & de-clamping is offered at an additional cost | |
