Bridge Type mill, drill CNC with Rigid Tapping

We specialize in custom-built machines in metal cutting. We offer CNC controlled SGPMs (Special Purpose General Machines). The machine that is being showcased is a custom-built machine, but is capable of doing all milling, drilling operations, apart from rigid tapping. It has a stationary bed, on which the table moves longitudinally (to and fro).

 

Ø  The machine is suitable for milling and drilling upto Ø 50 mm in 2250 mm long x 1250 mm wide x 25 mm thick plate with in-built rigid tapping capability.

 

Ø  Working height: 600 to 700 mm

 

Ø  Ram type drilling head with ISO-50 spindle; ram stroke to form the vertical axis.

Manufacturer of In-situ Flange Facer, Radial Planers. Conventionally, a work piece is mounted to a machine. But huge housings like pressure vessels, heat exchangers, turbine bodies, large pipes, reactors etc which cannot be accommodated in any known machines for machining operations because of their sheer massive size. Ship building, process plants, refineries, oil pipes etc have certain components which need at-site machining. Flange Facer is a portable VTL which gets clamped to the job and not vise versa. To meet this need from various engineering segments, we have started offering flange facers upto dia 5 mtrs. A flange facer can perform most of the functions of a lathe at site like chamfering, facing, boring, counter boring, grooving etc.

Special Purpose Machines offer tremendous scope for high volume production at low investment and at low cost of production when compared to CNC machines. SPM is a high productivity machine, with specially designed tooling and fixture, dedicated for mass producing the same component day in and day out. A judicious combination of limit switches, sensors, logic controls, automatic job clamping etc is the essence of a SPMs. A well conceived SPM finds ways and means to utilize the man and machine to the optimum. We offer low cost dedicated SPMs for mass production of small components of 2 & 4 wheelers, tractors, trucks, engines etc. Typical components are rear wheel flange, shifter cam, shifter fork, clutch sleeve etc. Our SPMs are suitable for mass production of components which involve operations like turning, boring, facing, drilling, reaming, taping, chamfering etc. These machines work with 4 to 8 stations, depending upon job requirements. We offer wide range of welding solutions like Welding Rotators, Welding Positioners, Column & Boom Manipulators, welding Automation systems, Industrial Welding System, Linear, rotary welding System, Boom Welding System, Tube Welding System, Plate Welding System, welding manipulators etc.

 

A Welding SPM is nothing but an automated welding system which consists of the following parts:

 

1.    Welding Fixture for accurately locating the components and for firmly holding & clamping the components in the required position. The locating dimensions are machined in a jig boring machine and clamping elements consists of U or V blocks, hold-down elements, locating pins, bushes etc. The fixture is designed for accurate location of the components repeated and consistently. The automatic clamp and de-clamp mechanism is generally through pneumatically operated cylinders.  Depending upon the welding requirements of the components that are to be welded, the fixture may hold the components in a fixed position or a rotating mechanism can be provided.

 

2.    Linear slides, carrying the welding torches. In this SPM, there are 6 welding torches, simultaneously welding both the end-flanges to a square tube in 20 seconds. The rapid approach of the torches to the welding zone, actual welding and rapid retraction of the welding torches through suitably designed slides are through servo motors and drives. Servo drive ensures accurate movement repeatedly and helps maneuvering the feed rates as per the requirement. The linear slides consist of LM guideways, ball lead screws and box nuts for a smooth & friction free movement.

 

3.    Electrical system consists of servo motors and drives for the linear movements of the torches, which obey the commands from the combination of PLC & limit switches. Electrical system is well designed for an efficient auto-cycle of all linear movements and also job ejection through ejection cylinders after welding and retraction of the slides to the home positions. To take care of varying lengths of job, VFD controlled length adjustment mechanism is provided. An user-friendly HMI helps the operator to on-machining program editing easily and in a very short time.
