Our transformers are used in a wide variety of commercial and industrial heating applications. Their uses include commercial heat treating installations, bakeries, grain dryers, and industrial ovens.
Primary voltages Include 110, 120, 220 and 240. Secondary voltages include 5,000, 6,000, 7,500, 10,000, and 14,500. All models come in either an end grounded 10,000 volt configuration or a twin (half X 2) volt version.
Epoxy filled variations complete the line, providing solutions for higher ambient temperature applications.
Current transformers are meant to perform circuit control, measure current for power measurement and control, and perform roles for safety protection and current limiting. They can also cause circuit events to occur when the monitored current reaches a specified level.
Current transformers have many laid-down performance specifications such as primary current, secondary current, insulation voltage, accuracy, and burden. Primary current is the load of the current transformer. Secondary current is the range of current outputs.
Insulation voltage represents the maximum insulation that current transformers provide when connected to a power source. Accuracy is the degree of certainty with which the measured current agrees with the ideal value. Burden is the maximum load that devices can support while operating within their accuracy ratings. There are two basic types of current transformers: wound and toroidal.
The most common purpose of a Lighting transformer is to convert alternating current (A.C.) power from one A.C. voltage (or current) to another A.C. voltage (or current). Another common purpose is to provide electrical isolation between electrical circuits. Power is the product of voltage times current. Power transformers do not change power levels except for parasitic losses. Input power minus parasitic power losses equals output power. Ideal power transformers have no losses; hence output power equals input power. Increasing the output voltage will decrease the output current. Electric utilities prefer to transmit electricity at low current values to reduce resistive losses in the power transmission lines. Lower currents also permit smaller size transmission cables.
A power transformer is used between the generating equipment and the power line(s) to step-up (increase) the transmission voltage (to high voltage) and decrease the transmission current. Distribution transformers, which are power transformers, are used to step-down (decrease) the voltage to voltage levels needed for industrial and household use.
We at SHEPHERD are manufacturing above mentioned Transformers up to 6.6KV voltage class in single phase & three phase, naturally Air cooled / Oil cooled resin coated version up to 900KVA capacity.
We use electrolytic grade super enameled copper wire / super enameled copper strips for winding, prime quality fresh CRGO strips for assembly. Insulating material of class F / H grade.
An isolation transformer, which often has symmetrical windings, is used to decouple two circuits. An isolation transformer allows an AC signal or power to be taken from one device and fed into another without electrically connecting the two circuits. Isolation transformers can be used to block transmission of DC signals from one circuit to the other, but allow AC signals to pass. They will also block interference caused by ground loops. Isolation transformers with electrostatic shields are used for power supplies for sensitive equipment such as computers or laboratory instruments.
SHEPHERD Servo voltage stabilisers are designed to regulate fluctuating in-coming mains supply voltage to provide stable output voltage for the operation of sensitive and costly equipments. SHEPHERD Servo voltage stabilisers not only gives an accurate output voltage but also saves the cost of unnecessary down time and repairs of those costly, sophisticated equipments and improving it’s productivity with higher level of efficiency. Thus it is ensuring that user’s equipment gives an optimum performance. SHEPHERD Servo voltage stablisers are designed to function with auto wound/double wound variable auto Transformer and Buck Boost transformers controlled by A.C. Synchronous motor. So, the correction of voltage is step less and continuous as well as faster for both low and high voltage condition. Moreover the correction is automatic due to the built-in self-correcting feed back mechanism”.
SHEPHERD Servo voltage stablisers are most ideally suitable for Electronic Tele-communication equipments, CNC machines, Plant machineries, Medical equipments, and for all type of inductive & resistive loads where supply voltage is unstable.
An Auto Transformer is an electrical transformer in which there is one winding, a portion of which is common to both the primary and the secondary circuits. In other words, the primary and secondary coils have some or all windings in common.
An Auto Transformer is commonly used for the voltage conversion of local power line voltage to some other Voltage value needed for a particular piece of electrical equipment. Unlike an isolation transformer, an autotransformer uses common windings and offers no interference or disturbance isolation.
A given size autotransformer will support a load equal to its rated value these units are employed in custom designs or when converting industrial/military equipment between various operating voltage systems. Unlike an isolation transformer, it uses common windings and offers no interference or disturbance isolation. You add any suppression or filtering networks your system requires. With a single / multi tapped winding, an
autotransformer is generally preferred to an isolation transformer, with two separate windings, for numerous reasons. It is much smaller and lighter than an isolation transformer. It also has better voltage stability and greater overload tolerance. It performs in much the same way as the electrical transformer that the electric utility uses to bring power to a building.
Shepherd Transformers is in the field of manufacturing of AUTO TRANSFORMERS since 1980. We manufacture single phase, two phase and three phase in natural air cooled, forced air cooled and oil cooled version. The capacity is ranging from 500VA to 900KVA form 100V to 660V. All above mentioned transformers are wound with high grade electrolytic super enameled copper wire/strips and fitted with prime quality CRGO low loss core (lamination) insulated with class F/H insulations, varnish with oven back class F/H insulation varnish, double vacuum impregnated. All Transformers are coated with Moisture Protection varnish. These Transformers are generally confirming to IEC 726, specifications. These Transformers are supplied either in open execution type for incorporating in side panel or in sheet metal enclosure suitable for indoor/outdoor application (as per clients specifications). Oil cooled Transformer are supplied with all required accessories and fittings.
Co-ordination Committee for productivity and plant safety in Asian countries has concluded its report with several suggestions. The said report is prepared and submitted recently after visiting and physically observing the working conditions in more than 160 plants, manufacturing & servicing units through out the Asia. The report says: The prime requirement of maintenance team is to work with maximum efficiency and to develop the condition of total safety concept within the plant. In order to achieve this concept, they should be provided with safest handy tools for attending the job. While developing the SAFETY HAND LAMP Units, this concept have kept in mind by SHEPHERD’S products designing team.
