Perlitemp is a high temperature insulation , precision molded into Pipe and Block shapes. Its principal ingredient Expanded Perlite is one of the best of all the known naturally occurring Insulation Materials. Its characteristic structure consist of millions of vitrified air cells. Trough a proprietary process, these particies are bonded together with special inorganic binders and reinforcing fibers, molded and baked. The final product has very Low Thermal Conductivity, is Non Corrosive, Asbestos Free, Moisture and Fire Resistant in addition to being Lightweight and Easy to install. The large blocks and Pipe Covering can be easily cut and shaped at site with carpenters tool.
RECOMMENDED USE:
Perlitemp is used in petroleum refineries, Petrochemical and Chemical Plants, in the generation of power, in indoor and outdoor Steam Piping in general and in a great many more application at temperatures up to 1200° f (650° C). Perlitemp is highly recommended for use with piping Vulnerable to corrosion and has no rival when it comes to application over austenitic Stainless steel. In a fire Perlitemp provides excellent protection of the piping and equipment and is recommended for this use even at ambient temperatures where no thermal insulation is required.
PRODUCTION OF DATA BLOCKS:
Standard Size: 900 ´ 500 mm.
Thickness : 38 & 50 mm.
Performed Rigid Pipe Covering: The pipe covering is offered in half section for steel pipe of nb of 12.7 mm. (1/2?) through 254mm. (10?). For diameters 305mm. (12?) to 508mm (20? ) the pipe coverings comes in quads.
Standard Length: 914 mm
Thickness : 25,50,75,100 mm
FEATURES:
1. LOW CONDUCTIVITY: Of all the insulating materials available, Perlitemp has one of the lowest coefficients of conductivity and is therefore most suitable for use in Power generation and Process industries.
2. NON CORROSIVE: Not only is the chloride content of Perlitemp very low but its high content of sodium lons acts as a corrosion inhibitor and offer an excellent protection against stress corrosion of austenitic steel. This is one of the important reasons why more and more chemical and Petrochemical industries in the United States and Japan are switching to molded Perlite Insulation.
3. LOW WATER ABSORPTION: Perlitemp repels moisture in a 24 hrs. total immersion in water, it typically absorbs less than 5%.
4. FIRE RESISTANCE: In direct contact with the flame, outside surface of the insulation
Vitrifies and acts as additional protection for the valuable piping and equipment, thus preventing/ delaying any burn through.
5. MECHANICAL RESISTANCE: Perlitemp maintains its mechanical integrity in the most demanding condition of use.
6. RECOVERABLE: In maintenance work, when the insulation needs to be dismantled, Perlitemp can be recovered and reused. This is not possible with pipe covering or blankets made of mineral wool.
