What is Hydrated Lime & Quick Lime?
Hydrated lime is a limestone that has been burned and treated with water under controlled conditions until the calcium oxide portion has been converted to calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)₂).

Hydrated lime is quicklime combined with water. CaO + H₂O --> Ca(OH)₂.

Quick lime is also called as lump lime or caustic lime. A chemical compound with formula (CaO) which is a whitish, odourless water that does not dissolve well in water. It is used in many water and waste water treatment operations such as softening, coagulation etc. It is capable of combining with water to form hydrated lime.
