Polyester Resin - Unsaturated Polyester Resin. The term generally used for unsaturated (means containing chemical double bonds) resins formed by the reaction of dibasic organic acids and polyhydric alcohols, basic component of SMC/BMC. Polyester resin is also known as a thermosetting plastic, which implies the plastic sets at high temperatures as opposed to thermoplastics which can be formed at high temperatures. Polyester resin can also attach things together plus it, creating a strong bond. Plus as it is a plastic it put against all elements as long as it has been produce to a high standard, with out any problems of it falling apart.

Glass wool Insulation products are made of fine, long inorganic glass fibers bonded by high temperature resin and is widely recognized for its energy conserving and sound insulating properties. Woven Roving is made from continuous glass fiber roving which are interlaced into heavy weight fabrics. Compatible with most resin systems. Used in most cases to increase the flexural and impact strength of laminates. Ideal for multi-layer hand lay-up applications where great material strength is required. Good drapeability, wet out and cost effective. With Woven Roving as a general rule estimate the resin/reinforcement ratio at 1:1 by weight. Woven Roving is available in a variety of weaves, weights, widths and finishes to suit a wide range of applications. Similar to, but much heavier than fiberglass cloth. 24 and 18 ounce woven roving handles and wets out easily. Provides high tensile and flexural strength in laminates. Usually is sandwiched between layers of mat.

It is a mat with different GSM which made of fiberglass chopped strands with 50mm adding powder or emulsion binder. It is raw material to produce FRP.

A gelcoat is a material used to provide a high quality finish on the visible surface of a fibre-reinforced composite material. The most common gelcoats are based on epoxy or unsaturated polyester resin chemistry. Gelcoats are modified resins which are applied to moulds in the liquid state. The manufactured component, when sufficiently cured and removed from the mould, presents the gelcoated surface. This is usually pigmented to provide a coloured, glossy surface which improves the aesthetic appearance of the article, such as a counter made with cultured marble.Specialised gelcoats can be used to manufacture the moulds .
