Flow Elements

This is a combination of flow nozzle & venture tube which can be used for metering relatively high flows with low permanent pressure loss.

Venturi tubes are used when relatively low permananent pressure loss is desired. These can be of machined (internal surface) or be fabricated (welded & ground type). Machined type is used for pipe sizes 50 mm to 250 mm. On the other hand these are of welded & ground type for 200 mm to 1200 mm pipe sizes. End connection can be either flanged or butt weld type

These are used for super heated steam and high pressure gas service. The upper limit of Reynold’s no is 100Lacs. Two types of nozzles are available i.e.. Isa 1932 TYPE & LONG RADIUS TYPE. For the former corner taps are used & for the latter D & D/2 taps are used. Pipe sizes 50 mm to 630 mm. ISA 1932 type flow nozzles can be mounted between flanges with corner taps or can be sandwitched between carrier rings. Long radius flow nozzles are sandwiched between branch pipes and welded. Taps are located on the pipe itself
