Jyotish Vidya, or astrology is a science that is purposeful in understanding and interpreting human personality, human affairs, and other terrestrial matters. It is also called a group of systems, traditions and beliefs, which works on the virtues of apparent relative positions of celestial bodies and related details for ascertaining human affairs and predict its future. This happens because the positions of celestial bodies and their movements directly influence life on earth or correspond somehow to events experienced on a human scale.
 
It is a very useful science for explaining past and present events and predicting future events that corresponds the human life and terrestrial matters. Though usually known as a pseudoscience, Jyotish Vidya is helpful in predicting the future and taking corrective action by anticipating events.

Situated on the banks of the river Kshipra in Madhya Pradesh, India is the city called Ujjain, also referred to as the city of Mahakaal. In ancient India, Ujjain was also known as Kushsthali, Kanashringa, Padmavati, Pratikalpa, Avanti, Amaravati, Bhaumvati, Avantika, Vishala and Ujjayani. The city encompasses 7 Sagar Teerthas, 84 SiddhaLingas, 28 teerthas, 25-30 SivaLingas, Ekadasa Rudrasthana, Ashtabhairav, temples for hundreds of deities, Jalakund and several monuments.
 
The city of Ujjain was the capital of the great emperor Vikramaditya, who is known for starting a new era by developing a new way of counting the years. Also, the famous astrologer, Varahmihir, practiced in Ujjain and gradually acquired the status of the most renowned astrologer in the country. 
 
Ujjain also houses the unique and sole south-facing idol of Mahakaleshwar, considered to be the God of deities as well as demons. This city has also been described as the most sacred city on Earth in the Adi Purana.
 
In today’s age, Mahakaal is regarded to as “Time”. “Kaal” stands for “Time” that consists of a past, a present as well as future of every individual existing on earth. All the people pay a visit to Mahakaal to get liberated from “Debt”, “Disease” and “Enemy”. Ujjain houses the famous, Mahakaleshwara Temple, which is considered to be amongst the seven holy places having the power and capability to “liberate a human”. Apart from this temple, the other six Mukti-Sthal are Haridwar, Mathura, Ayodhya, Dwarka, Benares and Kanchipuram.

Kal Sarpa Dosha is, primarily, a planetary position when all the planets take a position between Rahu and Ketu, resulting in failure and dejection in all spheres of life. This dosha is considered to bring misfortune and act as a hindrance in one’s progress.
 
It is believed that there are twelve kinds of Kal Sarpa Dosha based on Rahu’s placement from the lagana to the 12^th house. The twelve doshas are named after the fearful sounds of twelve snakes comprising Kulik, Vasuki, Padma, Mahapadma, Anant, Shankhapal, Takshak, Karkataka, Patak, Vishakata, Shankhanaad and Sheshanag.
