Incepted in the year 1992, Shree Momai Roto-Cast Polymers is an ISO Certified company and is among the most reputed names in the industry engaged in the manufacturing, exporting and supplying of a wide gamut of rotational molding machines, electric molding machines and thermoplastic molding machines. We started with Shree Momai Rotocast Containers Pvt Ltd. In the year 1992 Vadodara (Gujarat, India) and it was much later in the year 2002 that we progressed into a well established manufacturing unit for a vast array of Rotational Molding Machines and Pulverizers in Waghodia (G.I.D.C) Vadodara. We have been designing, manufacturing and delivering Pulverizer Systems around India since 1992.

Process

The rotational molding process is a high temperature, low pressure plastic forming process that uses heat and biaxial rotation (i.e. rotation on two axes) to produce hollow, one piece parts. This process is very useful in manufacturing large, hollow parts such as oil tanks as opposed to any other process. The range of rotational moulds is considerably cheaper as compared to other varieties of moulds. Minimum wastage and re-usage of excess material make this process the most economical and environmentally feasible manufacturing process.

The rotational molding process comprises of four distinct phases :
  • Loading a precise amount of polymer (usually in powder form) into the mould.
  • Heating the mould in an oven while it rotates, until all the polymer has melted and sticks to the mould wall. The duration of time that the mould spends in the oven is crucial. If it is too long, the polymer will degrade and reduce its impact strength. If the time spent by the mould in the oven is too little, the polymer melted might be incomplete. The polymer grains will have lack of time to completely melt and unite on the mould wall, which will lead to the formation of large bubbles in the polymer. This will have an undesirable effect on the mechanical properties of the finished product.
  • The mould is cooled down, usually by using a fan. This particular stage of the cycle can be quite time consuming. It is very important to cool the polymer, so that it solidifies and safe to be handled by the operator. This process usually takes about ten minutes. The part will shrink on cooling, coming away from the mould, and facilitating easy removal of the part. Precaution should be taken to keep the cooling rate within a certain range. Extremely rapid cooling (for instance, water spray) would result in cooling and shrinking at an uncontrolled rate, producing a distorted part.
  • Removal of the part.
