Continuous Wrist Strap Monitor

Wrist Straps are the first line of defense against electrostatic charge build-up on the human body. They are designed to carry away this charge as soon as it is generated.

This model WSM-03 continuously monitors the wrist strap to detect loss of continuity between operator and monitor. Conditions such as broken coil cords and improper contact with the skin are detected instantly to alert the operator before serious and expensive ESD damage can occur. As there is no resistive return path from the wrist strap, it uses the Capacitive AC pulse principle to check if the operator is adequately grounded. The system is automatically activated when the wrist strap is plugged in. Continuous monitoring reduces the need for periodic checks and audits and also ensures greater security.

Wrist Strap Tester

Wrist strap is the first line of defence against electrostatic charges builds up on the human body. It is designed to carry away this charge as soon as it is generated. At the same time wrist strap must remain electrically safe for the user. Thus, it is important to test every wrist strap regularly.

In order to protect the sensitive electronic components the maximum wrist strap resistance should not be more than 10 Meg ohms on the other end, the resistance should not be less than 0.75 Meg ohms as protection to the wearer from dangerous level of the voltage and current flow.

The wrist strap tester checks these parameters under actual operating conditions with the strap on the wrist. It clearly indicates whether or not the resistance of the wrist strap system including the wearer is at least 0.75 Meg ohms and not more than 10 Meg ohms respectively.

Human Body Voltage Checker is a new and unique visual method of detecting how much static charge a person is carrying. The unit can be wall mounted outside the ESD protected area to avoid charged persons unknowingly entering, or used by operators to periodically check that they are not creating a charge within the protected area.

Wrist Strap Cum Dual Footwear Tester

The Wrist strap Cum Dual Footwear tester is a jig type arrangement to test the validity of ESD Wrist strap & foot wears. The instrument measures Independent test simultaneously for right foot, left foot and wrist strap at the same time. Other Footwear testers can only measure two foot at a time, or the combined resistance of both foot. The wrist strap cum Dual Foot Tester reduces the testing time by half, and offers the operator a visual and audible measurement of Pass or fail of both foot and wrist strap before entering the EPA.

Operation of Wrist Strap:

Connect the wrist strap cord to the instrument with the strap on the wrist; press gently on the metal sensor of the wrist strap tester. The instrument comes on automatically when this is done. The operator can check whether the resistance of the wrist strap falls within the acceptable range (0.75 to 10 Meg ohms), This is indicated by green (pass) LED lighting up.

Wrist Strap & ESD foot wears are the first line of defence against electrostatic charges build up on the human body. It is designed to carry away this charge as soon as it is generated. At the same time wrist strap/foot wear must remain electrically safe for the user. Thus, it is important to test every wrist strap / footwear regularly.

In order to protect the sensitive electronic components the maximum wrist strap resistance should not more than 10 Meg ohms and foot wears resistance should not more than 100 Meg ohms. On the other end, the resistance should not be less than 0.75 Meg ohms as protection to the wearer from dangerous level of the voltage and current flow.

The wrist strap and the footwear tester checks these parameters under actual operating conditions with the strap on the wrist or foot wear on the foot. It clearly indicates whether or not the resistance the wrist strap/foot wear system including the wearer is at least 0.75 Meg ohms and not more than 10/100 Meg ohms respectively.
