Textile Industry:

It
is used in textile industry in order to provide stiffness & to add weight to cloths. It is also used in conjunction with thermoplastic or thermosetting resins to obtain a permanent finish.

Food Industry:

Maize Starch plays a vital role in food industry due to its characteristic such as viscosity & opaque paste, used for thickening sauces, gravies, pudding and pie fillings. It has numerous application in baking industry, provides strength to ice cream cones.

Paper Industry:

Maize Starch is used in paper industry for sizing as well as to increase the paper strength. The purpose of size press application is to improve appearance and erasibility ink penetration and form a hard firm surface for writing or printing, to produce surface fiber picking, and to prepare the sheet for subsequent coating. Corn Starch is used as an adhesive in pigmented coating for paper and paper board. The primary purpose of coating is to enhance the printability and appearance of the paper.

Applications:-

Adhesive and Glue

Its relatively high viscosity and paste quality indicates its binding capacity, thus tapioca starch finds much favor in the adhesive industry. Tapioca starch becomes sticky when it is mixed with water or certain chemicals. It stays sticky over a very long period of times. However, high quality tapioca starch fits for making industrial glues.

Plywood

Tapioca starch is applied for making glue which is an important raw material of the plywood industry. The strength and the quality of plywood depend largely on the quality of glue.

Pharmacy

Native starch is used as binders, fillers and disintegrating agents for tablet production.

Textiles

Starch is perfect for textile applications. This is why it is widely used in the sizing of yarns and finishing of cotton and polyester fabrics. The starch has a important role in three stages of production of textiles: Sizing, printing and finishing.

Paper

Tapioca starch will be used in three stages of production process; Beater Sizing or Wet-end, Surfacing Sizing or Size-press and Surface Coating.

Confectionery

Native tapioca starch and diverse types of modified starch are used in confectionery for different purposes such as gelling, thickening, texture stabilizing, foam strengthening, crystal growth control, adhesion, film forming and glazing.

Jellies and gums:

Low viscosity tapioca starch are widely used in gelled confectioneries. The most often used one is acid-thinned starch or enzymatically jet-cooked starch due to its high retro gradation and gel formation characteristics, which are enhanced by the presence of sugars. Powder starches are used as mould release agents when casting.

Alcohol.

Ethanol is derived from tapioca starch and used as fuel. It accounted for 70% supplied to alcoholic beverage industry and lysol industry. One ton of tapioca starch yields 720 litre or 95% ethanol.

Packaging:

Tapioca Starch Powder is available in 50kgs plastic lined HDPE woven bag.

Cationic Starch

AMPCAT-25 (cationic starch) is a wet end starch used in paper & paper board manufacturing to increase its internal strength properties as well as retention of fillers & fines. It is also used by the manufacturers of AKD emulsions.

Description:

AMPCAT-25 (cationic starch) has a cationic charge attached to it, which improves the internal strength properties of the paper by forming a strong bond between the fibers. The electro kinetic attraction promotes better contacts between the anionic cellulose fiber surfaces and the starch hydroxyls groups (Pre-gelatinized cationic starch also available).

  • Improved effluent quality & reduced costs.
  • Faster drainage & improved sheet formation.
  • Increased internal strength properties & retention of fillers & fines.
  • Reduces BOD in the mill effluent.

Ansizotex -Thin Boiling Starch
Ansizotex -Thin Boiling Starch

Ansizotex is a chemically treated starch suitable for sizing and finishing operations in textile industry.

Description: -

Ansizotex is a partially hydrolyzed starch product. Due to the reduction in the chain length, the paste of Thin Boiling Starch is less viscous than that of unmodified starch. It provides uniform & stable Viscosity over wide range of concentration.

Benefits

Applications:-

Textile Industry & Other Industries:-

Ansizotex is ideally suited for use in warp sizing and finishing of cotton and polyester cotton blends. Uniform paste properties of Ansizotex ensure substantially constant textile performance.

The warp threads undergo friction and tension during weaving process. The efficiency of weaving depends upon the resistance of warp yarn to abrasion. Ansizotex provides protection to yarn to meet friction and tension by giving uniform size penetration without developing abrasives points even on oven drying.

Ansizotex being more penetrating give a better anchorage to the starch film reducing flakings or "dropping". They give more weight to the fabric for the same stiffening effect, and the surface layer being thinner and more firmly fixed for an equal weight of starch, the size is neither visible nor perceptible by the "feel" of the cloth. Thus, it gives both solidity and "fullness" coupled with flexibility distinct from the stiffness of the cloth filled with plain starch with or without clays.

In finishing thin boiling starch like Ansizotex is used for a light finish when very little filling is required to give body to the cloth. Being a low viscosity product it is possible to control the stiffness of the cloth by changes in concentration of Ansizotex.

It is also added to native corn starch in different proportion to change the viscosity of native starch to suit different application in textile industry with respect to denier of yarn & also for further modification Ansizotex is used during manufacturing of paper & food products and for better performance.

Packaging:-

Ansizotex is available in 50 Kgs Plastics lined HDPE woven Bags.

Shubh Catmono-1889 Cationic Monomer
Shubh Catmono-1889 Cationic Monomer

SHUBH CATMONO-1889 is an aqueous solution of 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride. It is an effective cationic monomer used to modify natural and synthetic polymers to produce quaternary ammonium compounds with uses in the chemical processing, personal care products/cosmetics, pulp and paper, textiles and water management industries. Applications and contributions of SHUBH CATMONO-1889 include use in pH independent cationic starch for paper applications. It imparts antistatic properties, provides reactive sites for dye fixation and produces cationic coagulant.Applications The reaction of SHUBH CATMONO-1889 with select natural and synthetic polymers results in cationically charged polymers. It is this interaction between the positively charged nitrogen and the many negatively charged materials that make SHUBH CATMONO-1889 modified products suitable as dry strength additives for paper, retention aids, flocculants, electroconductive resins, asphalt emulsifiers, emollients and various surfactant applications.

Introducing SHUBH CATMONO-1889 into polymeric systems imparts three important characteristics:

  • Increased Cationic Polarity: Cationic groups improve adhesion to polar substrates.

  • Increased Affinity for Anionic Materials: Polymers modified with SHUBH CATMONO-1889have pendant cationic groups and will associate with materials containing negative counter ions, such as carboxyl, sulfonate, and many other negatively charged substrates.

  • Increased Hygroscopicity: Polymers with cationic groups display increased water solubility as a result of the highly water soluble quaternary ammonium group. Polymers generally not soluble with water can thus be given some degree of water solubility.

Product Properties:

SHUBH CATMONO-1889 is an aqueous solution of N-(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl) trimethylammonium chloride. The reaction of SHUBH CATMONO-1889 with select natural and synthetic polymers results in a cationically charged polymer.
