4. Material:

Shyamali recommends washing all cotton products 60 degrees . This temperature will stabilize the colors. All our colors, prints, buttons, & zippers withstand the same temperature. We do not recommend tumble dry as it tears unnecessarily on textiles.

5. Prewash:
Most of all the items are pre-washed, so that they will not shrink when the customer washes them. Quilted bedspreads, curtains, bed linens, cushion covers produced at Shyamalie are preshrunk

HISTORY
Shyamali represents a creative meeting point where classical design meets a long standing craft tradition. We started over 15 years ago in Chennai, India and with our production based in southern India. The fundamental idea was to help people develop through their own work and this has resulted in a long term commitment and long lasting values which are important for our company culture. Today more than 500 people are involved in the production and Shyamali''''''''''''''''s products can be found in most Scandinavian countries & European countries.

Design, functionality and quality have always been important to Shyamali. we want you to feel at home at the same time as we want to surprise you with something unexpected each season. As a result of the high quality of our design, we have received many appreciations from our buyers.

The quality of a material can really only be measured through practical use. Our tablecloths, aprons, tea towels as well as bedspreads have to be able to stand daily usage and continuous washing. We never compromise the quality of our products and it should be noted that we always work with the best yarns, colour pigments and sewing techniques.



ENVIRONMENT
Shyamali''s clean water - an integral part of a blue planet.
Water is one of these incomprehensible, wonderful things, which makes our planet inhabitable.

Water covers more than 70% of our planet and constitutes 72% of our bodies. According to UNESCO (WWDR 2003) the water supply for each human being will be reduced by 30% over the next 20 years.

We at Shyamali are extra careful with our use of water. In the cotton production, which is based in southern India, we clean all the water used in the dyeing process. In fact we recycle 94% of all the water and take great care to insure that no contaminated waste is disposed of into the environment. Our factories are BSCI & SA-8000 certified, and we only work with Oko-tex- approved colour pigments. This means that our production does not include any chemicals that can be harmful to our health.

At Shyamali, we are not satisfied by certifications only.
Ever since the founding of Shyamali in 1995, we always strive to improve our production techniques. This is our commitment to ensure the well being of the environment and of those with whom we share this blue planet.
