The mixer is equipped with several sensors: thermal sensors for the motors and for the gearboxes, level gauges for the oil of the geaboxes and for the hydraulic power pack, level and pressure sensors for the automatic lubrication system. Upon request, Sicoma can supply the Black Box, an electronic system that records type, number and duration of possible anomalies and alarms during the operation of the mixer. The same device can be programmed for the preventive maintenance.

Up to four swing-out sector doors running in rubber seals are completely watertight, non-jamming and low in maintenance, further reducing lifetime cost. Larger models are hydraulically powered while small models have choice of pneumatic or manual operation.

The discharge door has a rubber seal that runs along its full perimetre. The eccentric rotation of the door sector guarantees that the rubber seal is always reached and compressed despite its wear and tear.

All parts of the discharge door/s are produced using very accurate CNC machining and the full door assembly is then bolted to the tank. This guarantees the correct positioning of the door and that the door segment rotates in a perfect arc and is in contact with the rubber door seal on the tank. This prevents any unwanted leakage when the door is closed and prevents any possibility of the door jamming.

The stiffened frame of the tank eliminates the risk of deformation during the transport (also in container) as well as during the full load operation and guarantees the correct planarity of the shafts’ seals. The metal frame for aggregates hopper and the scales can be laid right on the mixer without additional supports.

SICOMA's 60 years of mixer experience has created a gearbox that is virtually indestructible. The huge double horizontal design is strong and shock resistant. The wide horizontal oil bath is cool running and gives every gear optimum lubrication. It is good for life and carries a 5 year, 10,000 hour warranty.

Widest opening of any, to give faster cleanup and adjustment of wear parts while making the process safer all round. One, two or three-part depending on mixer size. Single piece cover with hydraulic lift for easiest access is optional in largest models.

Two high pressure rotating stainless steel spray bars with adjustable spray nozzles fixed to the drive turret wash the mixer floor very thoroughly and a further two fixed bars wash the arms and mixing paddles as they rotate, as well as the pan walls.

Has plenty of capacity to operate doors reliably in even the largest mixer. Manual lever allows the door to be opened during lower loss (optional on MP1500/1000 and smaller).

All connections, including motor 3-phase power as well as solenoid valves and switches, are available in one easy access junction box.

The mixer tank is lined with Ni-Hard Cast Iron of 530HB minimum hardness. The mixing arms, with a low profile to avoid material build up, are made in Spheroidal Cast Iron. The mixing blades are made in Ni-Hard Cast Iron of 530HB minimum hardness. The large number of blades, their position and their orientation guarantee the right combination between the effects of rolling and circulation of the material during the mixing action.

The modular support patented by SICOMA is made with two separate housings. The bearing is lubricated in long lasting oil bath. The seal, based on the exclusive system of the counter-rotating disks, is lubricated with liquid grease.

The high top cover (500mm) is equipped with two hinged hatches and does not have any post. It allows an easy access to the mixer for an accurate cleaning at the end of the shift or for both preventive and unscheduled maintenance resulting in a shorter shutdown of the plant.

All MAO/C Mixers are designed and constantly improved with the use of three-dimensional modeling softwares.

SICOMA’s mixing action starts with the arms, which are responsible for most of the mixing, from top to bottom. Three cast iron arms per star, two stars starting from MP 1875/1250 and three stars for MP 4500/3000 and MP6000/4000. Together with two hardened steel scraping arms they are the best for toughness plus abrasion resistance. Adjustment slots allow easy blade adjustment to compensate for wear.

The gearboxes of the mixing group are epicyclical type. The first reduction is carried out by a pulley transmission equipped with a constant-velocity universal joint to keep the shafts syncronised. The low input speed to the gearboxes allows the lubrication oil to work at low thermal load. The connection between the gearbox and the tank is made with the exclusive bell housing. This unique feature gives a better rigidity to the coupling between the gearbox and the tank and makes the assembly and the possible maintenance of the bearings and the seals extremely easy.

The size of our Planetary Mixers ranges from 10 to 4000 liters of compacted concrete output, covering every possible need from small laboratory mixers to the largest production plants. The excellent performance of SICOMA-OMG Planetary Mixers are recognized in several application fields: readymix concrete, production of prestressed / precast elements, block and pavers, concrete pipes, dry mortar mix, but also in different sectors such as glass, refractory materials for foundries and chemical products.

The grease needed by the seal to keep the counter-rotating surfaces lubricated, is given by the automatic pump through a sequential distributor. It dispenses uniformly the actual necessary quantity of grease (0,09 kg/h) and guarantees a low grease consuption together with a low contamination of the mixing.

All Sicoma Turbine mixers can be shipped in standard open top containers or trucks due to the fact that the tank can be separated into two or more bolted segments. Re assembly on site is simple and quick as the segments are located on positioning pins and then bolted together. The tank walls and floor are lined in wear resistant steel plates. Under request, they can be lined with Ni-Hard plates.

The inspection platform with stairs, included in the supply, is absolutely necessary for the safe inspection and maintenance of the mixer. Its effective modular design allows the installation to be extremely easy wihtout the need of any crane or winch.

SICOMA Turbine mixers can be fitted with one or twin rotating agitator systems to
increase mixing efficiency and to reduce the mix cycle time. A special discharge blade can further reduce the total mixing cycle time.

The closing of the door is guaranteed by the pressure sensor included in the hydraulic circuit. In case of failure or blackout, a manual pump can be operated for the emergency discharge.

15 mm Ni-hard cast iron tiles give many times the life of abrasion resistant steel liner plates, reducing lifetime cost. Bolted assembly makes replacement a simple task; in addition, the wall plates are reversible to increase life even further. Additionally, tight fabrication tolerances mean that blades can be adjusted close to walls and floor for perfect cleanout between batches, ensuring the best performance on coloured products.

Complete the mixing action and give fast discharge. Cast from Ni-hard iron, 550 HB minimum, for extreme wear resistance. Outer edges are thickened to equalize wear and the angle of attack is optimized to push, not slice, to maximize both mixing and blade life.
