The ERP solution runs on the latest SUN Servers, the Sun Fire V880 and V440 systems with external storage capability. The servers are fully redundant with fail-over capabilities and protected with tools for backup and recovery. The Local and Wide area networking (LAN/WAN) requirements for the above setup is met through Managed Leased lines and ISDN connecting the manufacturing plants and the branches.

Other support services like High speed e-mail, broad-band internet access through VSNL, Antivirus and Messaging security suite from Trend Micro, state-of-art client hardware with required software are also available to serve the needs of Simpsons.

Simpson is in the threshold of the next phase of E-business, namely extending the network to customers and suppliers. Being a very customer-centric organization it would like to enhance its customer relationship with CRM and Supplier Scheduling modules.
