Harmonic Analysis

Ø       S.E.B.s (State Electricity Boards) has been recently sending notices to consumers to limit the Harmonics generated by their loads.

Ø       The S.E.B. directives however lack guide lines or rationale based on which the harmonic limits have been prescribed by them in voltages and currents.

Ø       Due respect to Harmonics in the power system, due to most of the present day loads, the harmonics are detrimental to consumers’ as well as S.E.B. power distribution.

Ø       On part of the consumers it is imperative to get harmonic study conducted. It is equally crucial that the formal report presenting Harmonic Analysis is justified based on acclaimed technical standards.
