Solanki Mechanic Works, a Gold Jewellery Machine manufacturing unit was incorporated in the year 1965, to cater to the Indian Jewellery manufacturers. Over the 4 decades Solanki Mechanic Works has grown from strength to strength based on Superior Machine Quality, Innovative Machine Designs and very efficient after Sales support.
Today Solanki Mechanic Works provides customized solutions for Chain, Bangle and Ring Diamond Faceting. The company has a mix of domestic and overseas clientele. Over 50% of the machines produces by SMW are Exported.
The company wishes to meet the present and future needs of its customers by developing and manufacturing Hi-Tech CNC & PLC based machines which are accurate, user friendly and versatile. The company aims more at selling machining solutions for the jewellery industry. SMW has supplied machines to leading Jewellery manufacturers the world over.
In line with company s efforts, towards continuous improvement and achieving excellence in the field of Jewellery Machine manufacturing, the company has decided to bring its quality systems in line with the international standards. The company plans to upgrade its quality systems in line with the systems laid by the International Standards Organization and will seek ISO 9001:2000 Certification by end 2005.
Quality Policy / Processes
Quality Control
All the components machined are subject to strict inspection and adherence to tolerances specified in the drawings. SMW has a comprehensive Quality Control setup and the emphasis is laid on minimizing the cumulative error in the final assembly of the machine to the barest minimum. SMW has sophisticated measuring instruments and is capable of measuring to accuracies below 0.001mm
Assembly & Testing
All the components having cleared the inspection are taken up for Assembly. SMW has a dedicated dust free Assembly set-up. The Assembly is scientifically carried as per design using special pneumatic and mechanical aids.
Integrating of Electronic (CNC & PLC) is done by Qualified Electronic Engineers. The CNC Panel is programmed and configured to make it user friendly. The emphasis is on User Friendly Operation at the time of Programming the machine hardware.
The assembled machines are subject to rigorous testing for the set parameters like back clash, consistency, accuracy etc. Actual machining is done with GOLD to verify the final product and outcome. We are probably one of the few companies who actually test their machines with GOLD.
Infrastructure
Design
SMW boasts of one of the best design facilities and has a dedicated Machine Design Department, employing the use of 3-D CAD/CAM software, Unigraphics NX-2. All the components that go to make a complete machine are designed. Special emphasis is laid on the selection of the correct material depending upon the use, wear and dampening requirements.
Apart from machine design department we also have a Jewellery Design Department, which is making constant innovation of new designs using design software ArtCam from Dell Cam. SMW offers free jewellery design support to its valued customers, which is a part of our strong customer support commitment.
