A flange is an external or internal rib or rim (lip), for strength, as the flange of an iron beam or I-beam (or a T-beam); or for a guide, as the flange of a train wheel; or for attachment to another object, as the flange on the end of a pipe, steam cylinder, etc, or on the lens mount of a camera. Thus a flanged rail is a rail with a flange on one side to keep wheels, etc., from running off. The term "flange" is also used for a kind of tool used to form flanges.

Bevel Gears
We offer a wide range of bevel gears that is developed utilizing the latest technology methods. These bevel gears are widely used for connecting intersecting axes. Some of the feature of bevel gears includes:

The pitch surface of these bevel gears is comprised of a cone. Whenever a rotational direction change is required these gears are of major use. The number teeth in the gears determine the speed of rotation which is mounted on shafts at the angle of 90 degrees. These gears are also effective on other degrees of angle. A bevel gear allows minor adjustment during the assembly and provide for some displacement due to the deflection under operating loads without concentrating the load on the end of the tooth. To ensure better efficiency the bevel gears are to be pinned to shaft with a dowel or taper pin.

Bearing Housing

The purpose of the bearing housing is to position the insert bearing, as well as to support loads transferred from the shaft through the bearing. The housings have a flat mounting surface. There are many types of different housings available but one major criteria in all is the possibility of relubrication. The ones that require relubrication is called relube type and the ones that don't are called maintenance free.

The housings are manufactured with flat mounting surfaces that simplify the installation of the unit. In pillow blocks, the mounting surface is parallel to the axis of the shaft and the flat surface is a straight foot support at the base of the housing. In flange units, the shaft runs at a right angle to the mounting surface.
