We are an ISO 9000-2001 certified company and was incorporated in the year 1987. The foundations of the organization were laid by late Mrs. Malik, a doyen of the Indian handicraft Industry. She was also known as the “Grand old lady of Indian Handicrafts”. She was trained at Dodwell International, of the Inchcape Pacific Group, at Hong Kong in 1965. On her return to India, she started and headed MCNell & Magor Buying Agency; which is now part of Li & Fung (Trading) Hong Kong. During her tenure she serviced John Lewis Partnership, Next, Selfridges, Dewherst (Serviced Boots and M&S), Herti, Kaufhoff, Karstadt, Woolworth and others, mostly in USA, Europe, Australia & Japan.

After the deceased of  Mrs.Malik in 1998, Something Else was carried on by her daughter Mandira and her brother Ranjit Malik. Mandira is a graduate from Parsons School of Design,Paris. Ranjit, a Business Management graduate brings with him experience of twenty years with fortune 500 companies. With their combined experience, skills & expertise they created an agency that provided design & product development services along with the regular agency services.

Further, Something Else has the distinction of being the only Buying Agency in India to be an ISO 900-2001 registered organization for the past 5 years. Through guidance and supervision of KPMG & B.Q.R.(Bestcert Quality Registrar) Systems, USA, multi national management consultants, have assisted the company in professional management systems.
