We are engaged in marketing and servicing activities for various energy conservation diffuser such as tubular diffuser, disc diffuser, wide band diffuser, snap-cap diffuser etc.
Disc Diffuser
SSI manufacture AFD270 (9") and AFD35D [12"] disc diffusers with compression molded EPDM membranes. These are made with less than 10% extractable oils in the final product. Other companies may claim low extractable oil content, however SSI measures it in the final product where it tends to be higher, rather than in the base compound. Extractable oil content is important because it is a determining factor in membrane shrinkage. The less extractable oil we use to make our membranes, the less they will shrink. Disc membranes have Die-T test results as per ASTM D624-91 of over 110 pounds/linear inch. This is double that of some competitors. Die-T measures tear propagation, which is the amount required to continue a tear. Since we perforate our diffusers with knives, Die-T is an effective means of determining the force required to tear one of our slits. Our impressive Die-T test results allow us to use more perforations in our membranes than any of our competitors. A higher density of perforations results in a more efficient diffuser. EPDM, unlike Silicone or Polyurethane, can be compounded m hundreds of different ways, with different fillers, curvatures and percentage concentration of base polymer. SSI. together with our Malcom Baldridge National Quality Award winning membrane factory, conducted many tests and production runs before selecting our premium EPDM compound. The selection was made based on the above factors of tear resistance and oil content, but also with an eye on efficiency, which can be affected by the hydrophilic properties of the material, and on modules, which affects the "memory" of the molded product over time. Our plastic disc components are made of environmental friendly polypropylene, and are designed to seal tightly without leakage. The membrane has an integral O-ring seal which is tightly compressed by our retaining ring which keeps air in and water out. We also make viton disc diffuser for aggressive influent.
THE SNAP-CAP "PLUS 5" represents a substantial advancement in the art of diffuser design The major improvement is in the snap-n check diaphragm cap which is now manufactured from a new, specially compounded, space-age EPDM based thermoplastic rubber that provides extended life and improved performance. The Snap-Cap "Plus 5" Diffuser consists of two simple parts, the support base and a flexible snap-on check diaphragm. During aeration, the diaphragm lifts from the base, allowing the air to exit through the orifices in the diaphragm. When air stops, the diaphragm is instantly seated against the base by the pressure head of liquid, preventing back flow and clogging. The novel edge design of the diffuser locks on the removal diaphragm to avoid blow off during unusual pressure surges. Diffusers available with 3/4" NPT Threads in plastic base and stainless steel base models. Snap-Cap diffusers will handle air flows from 5 m3/hr to 17 m3/hr
Fine Bubble Tubular Diffusers are designed for maximal strength at minimum positive buoyancy. Although tubes are usually not as efficient as discs, tube diffusers are often the most economical choice of all diffusers, particularly the OD90mm diameter x 1 m because of their relatively large size & high air capacity compared to disc diffusers. They require fewer header pipes, less support stands and less installation time than disc diffusers. The tube membranes are extruded from low extractable oil content EPDM polyurethane, silicone or nitrile. Perforations are available in 1 mm or 2 mm slit lengths and both saddles and nipples are designed to mount to US or Metric dimension pipes.
Membrane Life Time:
Up to 10 years in municipal waste water treatment plants, depending on waste water influent and operation condition.
Storage:
Scogen recommends care in handling and storage to prevent tearing, puncturing or fouling of the rubber membranes. If units are to be stored before installation, we recommend utilizing the original unopened shipping cartons. Store in a clean, cool location that avoids potential mechanical damage.
Cleaning:
Diffusers cleaning methods are available if the aeration tank is not behaving properly. For carbonating problem, formic acid cleaning solutions will be made available on request.
Airflex Wide Band diffusers are available in PVC plastic. They feature a clog-free design, with oxygen transfer rates of 0.5 to 0.8% per foot of submergence. They have a reliable alpha value and are designed to economically cover the tank floor. The design of the Airflex Band is longer than the typical Stainless Wide Band in the market, for good reason. It offers better floor coverage at a more economical price. Air supply is provided by PVC or stainless steel pipes The headers serve as control for the Airflex Wide Band diffuser, removing the need for separate control, which is typical of other types of Wide Band diffusers. The bubbles produced by this diffuser are considered medium or coarse. This diffuser is most often applied for low oxygen requirement, biological treatment, and for mixing in aerobic digesters, channels, equalization tanks, grit chambers. Diffusers available with maximum length of 800 mm long in ¾' NPT end connection. Wide band diffusers will handle air flows from 2 m3/hr to 17 m3/hr.
