Romantic and enchanting best describe our desire houseboat packages. Made from eco-friendly bamboo poles, ropes, bamboo mats, coconut fiber, etc., the house boats are 76 feet in length and 13 feet wide in the middle. Aboard the “Kettuvallam” as it is traditionally called, you glide through the backwaters of Alleppey, with palatable traditional food along with fish being served.

Couples can choose from fully furnished single room houseboats for two people and two bedroom houseboats for four people. These boats are complete with a sun deck, comfortable chairs, kitchen, western toilet and a separate rest room for the crew. The crew on board the house boat comprise a chef, one engine operator, and the captain.

The land of lakes, canals and paddy fields beckons you to come and see nature at its best and untarnished state. Adorned with mangroves and coconut groves with emerald green paddy fields and captivating canals dotted with white Lillies, Kumarakom offers sheer ecstasy to the traveller. During your stay at the enchanting place, you can visit the Vembanadu Lake that spans 900 sq. kms. and is brimming with marine life. One of the most spectacular sight here is to witness the locally evolved technique of country fishing.

Kumarakom is also famous for its age old practice of manual mining of shell reserves from the bottom of the lake for manufacturing cement. The place also has a bird sanctuary that is abundant with migratory birds including the Siberian Storks during the winter season. The Pathiramanal island in the Vembanad Backwater Lake also houses a number of rare birds.
