Specific Engineering & Automats offers Laboratory Twin Screw Extruder. Also known as LABORATORY CO ROTATING INTERMESHING TWIN SCREW EXTRUDER suitable for Institutions, Testing laboratories and compounding industry for Lab Testing of different Polymers ( like Engineering polymers, Master batch, Antifab & Filled compounds) Toner , Food & Pharmacy etc. Laboratory co-rotating intermeshing twin screw extruders are made with a complete modular design build up with segmented barrels and segmented screw elements which makes flexible hand for different screw geometry for compounding and testing varieties of polymers, lab extruder design and scale to bigger line , all features are common and scaled in comparison to production lines. Barrels are liquid cooled design to control friction heat through solenoid valve and PID comptrollers.
Effective screw length depends upon product and type. Available effective screw lengths are (L/D) from 20 to 40 L/D and screw volume ratio designed as per IS Standards 1.58
Gear Box unit is designed with High Torque high rpm robust design (Rpm 600) and Torque cap: 85Nm input power from 5.5 kW motor and controlled through Variable frequency vector drive.
All controls through HMI (Human machine interface) Touch screen & PLC (programmed logic controls) pressure in line and molten temperature will display on screen through pressure transducer with interlocking.
Laboratory model Twin screw extruders are also available with turn key project (along with post extrusion equipments like Water trough, Air knife, strand Pelletiser)
Bimetallic Segmented Barrels are developed for high wear resistance for high abrasive polymers like Nylon, PC, SAN, glass filled, Antifabs, Toner etc., Barrel inner Liners are treated with Vacuum Hardening, plasma nitriding & cryogenic Processes for better core & surface hardness up to 70hrc.
Rectangular block in segments made out of Wear Resistant Steel. Barrels are Vacuum Hardened, Plasma Nitrided and Ground Finished for high wear & corrosion resistance (like: Nylon with glass filled, PC, San, Pet, Toner, Eva, TPE Antifabs, etc. MoC: DIN -x100CrMoV02.
Individual cooling arrangement of the processing section (each segmented Barrel ) is made The screw barrels are held together by interlocking with M 12 Fastner and for screw Dowel is used. Heating through cast heaters and mass distribution calculated to ensure uniform & intensive heating. The uniform cooling through barrel is provided called close loupe cooling very near to internal diameter of barrel. The cooling media is DM Water.
Segmented Screw Elements & Screw shafts
The screw arrangement / geometry can be designed various combinations
Screw clearance between screw /screw & screw/Barrel 0.25- 0.35 mm
Minimum clearance to ensure better compounding & self wiping for quick clearing.
The screw shaft assembly is characterized by the following:
Involute spline shaft MoC H-13 in one piece
Screw elements with various pitches and lengths
Kneading blocks with various angles of stagger, numbers of kneading disks and disk widths
Screw tips for axial fixation of the screw set
Involute spline connection for optimal and save power transmission between shafts and elements.
Screw barrels and elements are configured in a optimum way to suit the process tasks and conditions. Reduction & Distributing Gear Box Unit. The gearbox reduces the motor speed to the speed of the screw shafts and distributes the torque to the two output shafts.
