About Us SPHEREHOT, synonymous with domestic appliances and electrical heating, got its name from the first SPHERICALLY shaped instantaneous water heater that was pioneered by Mr Kantilal Doshi as far back as 1930 in Mumbai. The Second World War gave the boost as per the necessity to the SPHEREHOT to add the other heating appliances like Domestic Irons, Hot Plates, Laundry Irons etc for the FIRST time in India. The Power shortage gave another opportunity of introducing the Electric Storage Water Heaters in the post Second World War period enlarging the scope of Water Heaters from Mumbai to all over India. For this purpose, it required a larger factory premise. As a result, a new factory was constructed in the year 1959 at Udhna-Surat (Gujarat). Imports of components getting more and more diffficult, vigorous R & D efforts were put up to produce the vital components like Thermostat Controls and Electrical Tubular Sheathed Heating Elements also for the FIRST time in India. The scope of Electrical Tubular Sheathed Heating Elements for appliances expanded for the industries offering the import substitutes to the industries. The activity of export of Electric Storage Water Heaters was started in the year 1963 - the FIRST export of Water Heaters made from India to Kuwait. SPHEREHOT has been exporting the Electrical Water Heaters, Appliances, Heating Elements and thermostats to various countries since more than three decades. The growth continued resulting into establishment of a new independent unit having manufacturing facilities for Electric Water Heaters at Ankleshwar in the year 1981. For the Electrical Tubular Sheathed Heating Elements, the stainless steel and nickel alloy tubes were imported by this time. As a policy of producing the vital parts in the Group, the Tube Forming and Welding Mill was imported and the producing of corrosion resistant nickel alloy tubes started at Ankleshwar. |
