 | Fused Silica Powder Silica is one of the most versatile non metallic minerals. Its stable chemistry combined with excellent physical properties makes the mineral in its crystalline form an ideal starting material for conversion to a unique refractory among fused minerals. Fused Silica is generally made from high purity crystalline silica sand, quartz crystals or from synthetic silica. Which is fusion in very high temperature around 1730 degree C, results in conversion of crystalline silica to amorphous silica. The amorphous mass in the form of an ingot. The outer skin of the ingot is chipped off to eliminate cristobalite and crystalline quartz. The inner ingot is broken into lumps or cullets for grinding in ball mills. Vibratory sieve shakers separate the milled particles into different grades., The Coarse particles starting from [BSS MESH] 4 to 6, 6 to 16, 16 to 30, 30 to 120 meshs. The Powders from -200, -325, and Micronized fused silica flour are available., Characteristics of FUSED SILICA, Fused silica with its excellent properties of low thermal expansion, high resistance and good chemical stability finds strategic use in different technical and industrial applications., It has the lowest coefficient of thermal expansion among all fused minerals. It has high thermal shock resistance and low thermal conductivity. It is ideal for application in investment and precision casting and in the manufacture of special and continuous casting refractories. Technical Data Physical properties : - Composition - 99.7% SiO2,
