About UsMega Food Park is being set up by Srini Food Park, a new venture promoted by experienced and successful professionals in the area of engineering, food processing, software and logistics. The promoters have a track record of setting up and scaling up business enterprises successfully, are resourceful and possess considerable international and project implementation exposure. Supported by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, it is a first-of-its-kind project that is expected to harness the potential of food processing industry in India. The food processing sector, identified as a thrust area for development, has been included in the priority lending sector and has several policy initiatives to back it. |
Aim / Vision / MissionAim The Mega Food Park aims to: • Reduce post harvest losses drastically to less than current 30% • Improve linkage and information channels across supply chain • Improve geographical reach • Reduce handling losses drastically to less than 15% • Improve common facilities for primary value addition such as grading, sorting and washing of vegetables, fruits • Provide common infrastructural facilities like cold storage and warehousing • Improve quality of processed food • Introduce controlled atmosphere containers like reefer vans • Adopt best packing and storing practices • Provide common high value facilities for IQF, Aseptic Filling etc • Create awareness among farmers, entrepreneurs and traders regarding contract farming • Provide high quality testing facilities • Improve price realization for farmers, food processors VISION Mega Food Park aims to be the model infrastructure provider to the food processing industry in India by adopting global best practices, high-end technology and providing end-to-end linkage to the food processing sector. MISSION To provide the best end-to-end solutions for the food processing industry in India through empowerment of the farmer, reduction of losses, improvement in product quality, better price for consumers, implementation of best practices and reducing uncertainty for farmers in terms of price, yield and quality.
