Indian vegetable oil industry uses the conventional filter that is a hefty plate and frame type filter that uses immense amount of filter cloth, requires huge manpower for handling, results in dead losses and the entire process becomes house untidy and filthy.
Being the simplest, economical and competent in operation, the pressure leaf filter does not require any cloth and manpower for operation. Moreover, being a closed system prevents the process house from getting dirty.
SAP Leaf Filter is has a vertical tank in which the filter leaves are vertically mounted on a common pipe manifold for carrying filtered oil. Made of stainless steel wire cloth, the filter leaves are mounted on S.S. Frame and filter on both sides. This provides a large filter area in comparatively small vessels. In odder to aid in the discharge of cake, a big bottom outlet valve is provided. The filter is equipped with pneumatic vibrator for cake discharge.
