A main part of electrical
transformers and other electrical appliances/equipment, these core
laminations are cut from special steel - cold rolled grain oriented
electrical steel (CRGO).
A special quality of
steel, CRGO has special grain surface & come in a thickness of
0.23 mm, 0.27 mm, 0.30 mm, 0.35 mm (M3, M4, M5 & M6). It’s
quality is measured in terms of lower losses of electrical current,
which flows in the core, which is measured in Watts per Kg.

Further the use of surface cum edge
grinding machines ensures minimized formation of burrs and edges in
the material. This eliminates the need of de-burring as well as
creates least possible stress in grains of CRGO material, which
improves the overall quality of material by lowering core losses.
Our better management of the
manufacturing operations, maintaining reduction in wastage and
improving overall efficiency of operations has also helped us to
achieve production capacity of 5-6 tons.
Production Process
Sample Testing of the
Raw Material:
Sample is randomly drawn
from coil and Epstein Square test is conducted on the sample to match
it with the test certificate provided by suppliers
Slitting:
Received in the form of
coil, these are slit using quality cutters to control the burr level
Shearing:
Slit coil is sheared in
treadle shearing machine. Utmost care is taken during grinding of
blades in order to minimize burr level and ensure that it does not
exceed more than than 10 microns.
V-Notching:
V-Notching in yoke plates
of stacked lamination is carried out using power presses that feature
superior quality dies that ensure zero burr level.
Stress Relieving
Annealing:
As stress developed in the
stacked laminations tend to increase losses & magnetize current
of the core, it is relieved by subjecting laminations in stress
relieving Annealing furnace.
Testing:
Random tests conducted on
sample of CRGO laminations for measurement of:

Insulation resistance
Bend test
Burr level
Packing:
These laminations are
packed using wooden pallets & are covered/ strapped by waterproof
hessian cloth for avoiding damage to core edges.
