Established in the year 1964, we Steelbird Hi-Tech India Ltd. (SBHT) are the pioneers in the helmet manufacturing industries. We offer a complete range of Full Face Helmets and Open Face Helmets to our clients from across the globe.

Our comprehensive range of helmets are widely used by the bikers as well as rally sports riders. These are manufactured in our state-of-the-art manufacturing unit under the supervision of our experienced personnel. We have with us the most advanced equipment and machinery installed in our unit that further enables us to smoothly manufacture our range.

Further we have entered into technical collaboration with Composites Bieffe S.R.L. (previously known as Finim S.P.A,) Italy in 1995. It is the world no. 1 in terms of production, producing more then one million helmets per annum. We also has a tie ups with AD Engineering, Italy for supply and distribution of its quality laboratory equipments for Indian market. It is because of this international collaboration of ours, our Bieffe Helmets are patronized by all the well known racing champions like Eddie Irvine (Formula 1), Loris Capirossi Motomondiale (500CC), Emilio Alzamora Motomondiale (250CC), Rinaldi Team Yamaha (500 CC), Motocross Enduro and 20 other racers.

We are guided by our chairman, Honorable Shri Subhash Kapur and led under the dynamic leadership of its Managing Director Honorable Shri Rajeev Kapur who boast off 26 years of leadership experience under them. The name “Steelbird” has been the Torch Bearer for uncompromising quality, ensuring that each of its products deliver the costumer, the Best of the Quality.

The success of our group “Steelbird” is a success story of a visionary who had a humble beginning. It all begin with a vision of a young man, Mr. Subhash Kapur who at the age of 20 had little finances but a lot of guts. Despite little formal education Mr. Kapur developed a fantastic business sense of a genius. His uncanny neck for choosing the difficult path kept him ahead. Whether it was air filters, fuel filters, electronic parts of two wheelers or helmets, as the name “Steelbird” appeared on thousands of two wheeler products, it spelled one thing, “Top Most Quality”.

In a market where people have had little knowledge about the role of a safety helmet in two-wheeler riding and they end up purchasing useless plastic caps or non standard helmets, Mr. Kapur had the guts to manufacture helmets starting from 760/- onwards, whereas the market was flooded with cheap so called Helmets priced around Rs 150/-.

This uncanny knack was passed to the next generation and as the dynamic, Mr. Rajeev Kapur took over the mantle, Steelbird saw itself expanding its wings in the Global Market.

In less than 2 years, Mr. Rajeev Kapur took the Steelbird name to many countries around the Globe. The efforts of Steelbird and its name in the Asian Region also resulted in an Italian collaboration with BIEFFE, the World’s no.1 company in helmets.

We have with us a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit that is spread across a huge area. Our manufacturing unit is equipped with all the latest and sophisticated machinery that enable us to manufacture our range of helmets smoothly and uninterrupted.

Our manufacturing set up follows the optimally integrated mechanism, with quality checks at each departments. As a product moves from one department to the other, it is thoroughly checked on the pre-outlined parameters for flawlessly consistent quality.

We select the best of the raw material and the layers of fiber glass are mixed with the Raisin. The mixing requires precision in many aspects for e.g the Raisin mix varies according to the varying temperature. The entire activity is handled by the experts to ensure a Perfectly Moulded Shell. Thereafter, each shell is inspected by the quality control supervisor in the moulding section and is marked O.K to be passed on to the next level of production i.e. Paint preparation department. Herein the surface of the shell is prepared for Smoother Long Lasting, superior paint finish. It is baked several times by applying different pattis ensuring smoothness and suitability for paint application. Similarly each process, is earmarked with certain guidelines for the department to follow. The departmental head marks the product O.K and passes it to the subsequent department till the product reaches the final stage. Wherein it is further subjected to final inspection, labeling and Packaging.

We at Steelbird manufacture our range of helmets under strict quality control to ensure that it meets the national and the international safety standards. Our state-of-the-art testing laboratory is capable of testing helmets conforming to all the standards of world including DOT, SNELL 2000 (U.S.A), ECE 22.05 European, British, TCVN 5756 Vietnamese and Bureau Of Indian Standards (IS: 4151).

Quality control is the integral part of all processes namely in-coming inspection, in-process inspection and final inspection/ pre-shipment inspection. These inspections are carried out by state-of-the-art Inspection, Measuring and Testing equipments (IMT), which are regularly calibrated to ensure consistent, reliable and accurate measurement

We make sure that the correct/ good helmet that capable of passing these tests has four important parts:

1. The Outer Shell/ Visor: Our helmets are made from Fibre glass reinforce plastic or High impact ABS. It is first level of protection from penetration or shock in case of impact. The hard outer shell distributes the force of impact across the surface thereby reducing direct impact. Visor connected to outer shell protects eyes from dust particles, wind gust & bugs and allows normal peripheral vision.

2. The Inner Lining: It is made of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) and offers second level of protection. Its crushable material limits the force of impact and lowers the effect of the blow on the head.

3. The Comfort Padding: Comfort padding is used to cover inner lining to give a snug fit to the head. The helmet padding should rest firmly but comfortably on head. Good quality heat insulation material, systematically designed wind circulation and high quality single piece sweat absorbing harness is provided to avoid any type of irritation.

4. The Retention System: We use the best quality Nylon straps & buckles, which can withhold tensile load of up to 400 kg. No other treading of any kind has been used to make it more attractive at the cost of safety. In no circumstance, our straps will come out of the buckle at the time of any mishap.
